They love chipping away at the &quot;sandy rock&quot; looking for the treasure. It was actually pretty easy to dig. The characters are pretty good quality and wash off easy. It came with four digging tools that all connected, to dig out a figure, a weapon, and a little treasure. The directions recommended you put warm water over it to soften it up which absolutely helped. It was still tough but totally manageable. My son has been asking me to get him more ever since he got his first one. He loved the process of digging and discovering. This was a really fun activity that my kids just loved! This was a bit messy so we had him do it in the sink to avoid a huge clean up so that should be noted. I personally think kids grow with messy toys sometimes instead of the normal toys so this didn't affect us at all.
