My children love playing with their Trackmaster sets and were excited to use Timothy on their tracks. Timothy was durable, worked great, and provided hours of fun to our kids. It doesn't quite work with the wooden track we have, at least not on its own. It fits well enough that my son can push/pull it around the track, he just falls off if he is turned on and running on his own. We don't own the plastic tracks so I can't say how well he works on those. But the nice thing is, he doesn't need a track to run, he can run right on the floor, which is where my son prefers to play with him. He does take 2 AA batteries which are not included but they were easy to put in. This train has 2 different modes. If you just push his switch on top a little bit, he will run for a few feet and then stop. If you push the switch all the way on he will run continuously until you turn him off. Overall it is a toy that my son enjoys playing with. I did revieve this product for free in return for my honest and unbiased opinion. He has many Thomas trains and tracks, but this was the first of the TrackMaster line for him. He was so excited to watch the train move on its own. It holds his interest for long periods of time. He really enjoys role playing with the trains and track sets as well as just letting Timothy run along our hardwood floors. Great toy! They knew exactly who it was when they first saw it! It's bright, colorful and very appealing to them. They like running it on the Trackmaster track, but they also love racing it on the floor and on the carpet. It&rsquo;s pretty fast even on the carpet!
