The Thomas and Friends Beachy Nia toy train did not disappoint! My 3 year LOVED it! Nia is decorated in a &quot;Going to the Beach&quot; them. She's rocking those shades! She's also towing behind her a beach ball and a sandcastle. The sand castle has a notch that allows it to stay on the car without falling off. The beachball also has this notch, so you can choose to let the beach ball roll back and forth in the open car or mount it to the car. All 3 of my boys have played with Thomas trains. My 3 year old enjoys that it is motorized and he can play with it on the tracks or just on the floor in the house. Beachy Nia is a new train and she is a fun engine! The train is plastic but very sturdy. The hitch for both the attached cars work really well and the ball and &quot;sand train&quot; we a lot of fun to play with. We love the battery operated trains that go on there on when you turn them on. We live near the beach and he loves the ocean so was so happy when he saw this toy! It fits all the sets he has and he loves playing with, especially transporting the beach ball all around his different track sets! Pretend you are a rain yard down by the beach and loading cargo to haul away. My two children, ages two and four both enjoy this toy. There is a switch on top of the engine that is easy for both ages to turn on and off. The train comes with two extra cars that can be placed in any order and just simply hook together. The train does not come with batteries and does require two AAA batteries if you&rsquo;d like it be motorized automatically. The detail on the train does show that it is a beach train that includes pictures of sand, shells, toys, and a beach ball. The train also comes with a flatbed car which carries a train sandcastle that can be removed, and an addition train car that carries a toy beach ball that just sits on the train car. When the train is being powered by the motorized component it moves slowly on hardwood and tile floor. You do not need the batteries for it too move. You can manually push the train around.
