We moved her to it at 2.5 years old. We used the crib matress and it fit great. Every girl who came over loved to play aroud it and wanted it to be theirs. We owned the older version the the foot part drawbridge turned into a desh whendown(we purchased a Step2 chair so she could sit at it. I wish it still had that part it added something extra to the fantastical aura of the bed. We converted it to a twin size nbed at age of 6. Sadly we just sold it on Craigslist for $300 so it was a fantastic way to helpbuy her &quot;big teen bed&quot;. Step2 hands down makes the best toys. We have owned most of their items since 2006. It toy was a wonderful purchased that never broke. The outside toys never faded(stored them during N.Y. winters.
