With our hose there was no water spraying upwards, only a dribble. maybe if you have fantastic water pressure it would work. The little pool at the end is great for a little splash finish, perfect for a little kid wanting to water slide in the summer sun. You can also adjust the angle of the slide so the water hits away from the slide, kids can run parallel and get splashed by the line of water or drive their ride ons through for a car wash without damaging the slide. I e-mailed the company that makes them a few weeks ago, and they never got back to me. It is a bit smaller than I was expecting but my 10 year old fits down it and my husband, who's not a small guy - 6 feet - even made it down the slide. I never had any issues with the sprinkler part hitting the slide, I think, like any sprinkler, it depends how high you have the water turned up...if you turn the water down a bit it hits the slide fine. Ours does not work. Kids run from a far distance and do not even slide. It ends basically as soon as the hit it, and they don&rsquo;t even go a third of the way. The sprinkler doesn&rsquo;t actually go onto the slide it lands over in the grass, which may be why it doesn&rsquo;t work. The pool at the bottom is so small and only enough room to hold my 5 year olds feet.
