She is struggling with reading and spelling. I love that this game has levels so as the child's skill level grows, they can adjust and challenge themselves more. There are a total of 5 levels. It starts with helping tbw child identify letters, then basic misspellings. They not only get to hear the word, but see the word. Then they get the chance to spell it. She has only had a it a short time but I'm excited to see how she grows. It helps them practice their spelling and learn how to say them correctly. My kids loves this product so much! I do like that it has different levels of spelling. It was very easy to use. The pad was easy to touch. The screen is very clear. It&rsquo;s very well made physically. It gave a nice amount of words. I was extremely excited to give my daughter a chance to have her very own. It is easy to use out of the box, take out of the tab in the battery compartment and turn on, batteries are included! There are five play modes included and my daughter quickly discovered that the &ldquo;Mystery Word&rdquo; play mode was her favorite. I did find it a bit frustrating that you need to remember what letters you already guessed playing that game as it does not tell you if you already guessed that letter and it will count as a point against you each time you press it. This tool is not the best regarding being able to understand what it is saying, especially when you are asked to spell a word. She would ask me what it said, and some of the time I was not sure, I would have to look in the included booklet of words and even then, I could not figure it out. There were also times where we both heard a different word. There are three volume levels on the Speak &amp; Spell and they are all pretty loud, it will not be a secret when someone is using this as you can hear it from another room. Overall, I am excited for this to be a tool in my home to help my daughter learn to spell. There are four levels of words it uses with 155 words spread throughout the different levels. The words are not really for younger children, which is why I believe the ages on this is 7+. It was so much fun and was very educational and helpful to me as a child. My little girl loves it just as much as I did. She is 7 and it really helps her to get her spelling down. There are varying levels so it starts off with easier words and then works it way up to the tougher words. I like how it offers praise when the word it spelled correctly. It&rsquo;s a lightweight educational toy computer. The buttons respond very nicely. Just a light touch and it recognizes what has been entered in. The speaker is loud enough to hear and the display is bright enough to see. I like she can request a clue when trying to spell a word. The vowels are highlighted which is another great feature of this classic toy.
