The toy looks authentic to the game, and he has had a lot of fun playing with it. My son loves how fast and far it shoots. He finds it shoots accurately. It really shoots the bullets with a lot of force, so I imagine it would hurt if it were to hit someone across the room. Only problem is that the handle to load the crossbow back is so hard that I can&rsquo;t even pull it back all the way. This was NOT designed for kids. That handle has to be fixed. My husband had a hard time pulling the handle due back too. So, I begrudgingly dug the previously disappointing toy out of the &ldquo;eventually donate, but first hold on to this for 6 months in case the need arises to remove it from the pile&rdquo; box. After further inspection and instructions, a literal broken nail beyond the quick and a whole lot of sweat and swears early this morning, I finally got the handle to prime after using brute strength. But hey, now the trigger won&rsquo;t release! No children&rsquo;s toy, for review or otherwise, should be this painful for a strong, capable adult. My 5 year old couldn&rsquo;t pull it back to load, however, loved shooting it. My 9 year old can pull it back and has great aim. These darts go far!!! Super fun and worked well outside. The crossbow has a revolving cylinder that holds 6 darts that are easy to tell apart from the standard dart because of the plastic piece on the end. It is pretty accurate and the darts get quite a high velocity behind them! The body is very cool looking and so fun to use! It&rsquo;s easy to reload and to pull the drawstring/lever on top. My kids play without it. The reloading is easy enough for my older teens, but my younger child had a bit more of a tough time. The bullets shoot accurately and with enough force to keep my older teens amused but I wouldn't recommend it to unsupervised younger kids.
