The quality of it is very good and so far it is holding up with him playing with it. The strider has moveable joints so whoever is playing with is able to move it and pretend it's walking or moving its legs. The only thing he really does not like about it, is that it is only part of the portal and as of right now we do not have other pieces to mention on how well they interlock with one another but we do hope to get other pieces, if not all so he can complete his portal. It was easy to get out of the packaging and he put the pieces together without help, but then asked, &ldquo;what am I supposed to do with it?&rdquo; He liked that the legs could move and played with it along with his other figures but it just didn&rsquo;t seem to be his favorite. It would have been cute if it came a little saddle for another character to ride it like in the game. This character attaches to a bunch of others to make something big to play with but doesn&rsquo;t really do anything on its own. You get a Strider figure, a tool/weapon, and a piece of the portal that you hope to eventually build once you've collected a handful of Build-A-Portal figures. My kiddos are 5 and 7 and they love all things Minecraft so this was an exciting addition for them. My only complaint is that you cannot build the portal without 5 or 6 figures required to complete it. It is frustrating for little kids to have a portal piece that they cannot use. I think these would have been better if it just came with the portal or the portal was sold separately. The youngest ran up to his room to get a Steve to ride on top and he really liked the mushroom on pole for Steve. The oldest was impressed with the detail of striders feet being charred from lava. The strider seems like it will hold up well for many future Minecraft adventures and it&rsquo;s always great to have variety of characters and mobs. He was so excited to get another character to add to his collection. Like other Minecraft toys, this one is of great quality. I know it is hard to see in the pic but there is a saddle on the top of this mob that allows Steve or Alex to take a ride on this thing while holding onto the fishing rod. Those small details made this set fun and interactive for my son. It is also part of the build-a-portal series so if you collect all the characters you can build a Minecraft portal with all of the pieces. Looks like I will be tracking down all the other sets.
