He has many of the small minecraft figures which he loves. But he went absolutely nuts over this! This is the first set that the figure has articulated legs that move! This one is definitely a little more prone to open up the imagination in my 4 year old. We have not yet collected the entire portal set, but getting the steve figure was a must right away as steve sits perfectly on the striders head seat and holds the fishing pole! Great for fans of the Minecraft franchise, this toy is durably made from hard and soft plastics. Being that collectible figures are not a secret, it makes it easy to get all six and complete the portal! The only drawback I had, was with the accessory for my figure. There was no way for it to connect or interact with it. After she opened it she played with it for a a little bit and then picked it back up to play with it as a monster outside. My boys enjoyed playing and building with it. It is a great add to their Minecraft playing outside of playing an electronic game. They enjoyed moving the figure to create different play poses. Their favorite was the sword accessory. My sons (11 &amp; 7) like it and it is well made. They enjoy having more figures and accessories to play out the different stories they make up. They were very excited to see that this came with a portal, but to their disappointment it was only part of one and I would have to go out and buy more sets to complete the whole portal. It took him less than 30 seconds to open the package and build and has been sitting where he built it since. While it is a cute toy on it&rsquo;s own, you need the collection to really make this fun.
