I did wish that the color red was available- perhaps colors were selected based on theme - in this case, the jungle. For my 25 month old grand-daughter, I think that the My First Paintbook is more developmentally appropriate, because it is a classic paint with water book. Somr pluses for these books are 1) there is a lot of color on the My First Paintbook pages, 2) each includes a paintbrush, 3) the artwork is far superior to other paint with water books.
