He loves little diecast models and hotwheels so i figured this would be perfect and something we could enjoy doing together. Boy was I wrong.... The build itself went okay and the instructions were fairly easy to follow but the quality of the blocks in the kit were garbage. We had a really hard time getting some blocks to fit as they were warped/dimensions were not consistent or accurate. Some of the long pieces used to bridge the front and back/chassis plate are visibly warped and as a result the truck doesn't stay together when fully built. The pressure put on from the suspension rubber bands pulls everything out of place and causes the wheels/'drivetrain' to come apart when it's just sitting on a table. You can't even push down on the truck lightly to see the suspension at work because the plates all just separate from the tension caused by the bands on a major mounting point. My son really wanted to have this on display but it just keeps falling apart sitting on a shelf and it's incredibly upsetting for him. We are super disappointed in this kit and I likely won't be purchasing another from MEGA again. With the way the suspension is designed, the tension of the O-Rings can actually pull the undercarriage away from the rest of the kit. My son loved it. I thought it was great that the kit included a small, official Hot Wheels, version of the truck. It allowed my son to play with it while we completed the Mega block kit to create the GIANT Bigfoot truck. I&rsquo;m not going to lie, when opening the kit everything seemed a bit daunting. There where A LOT of pieces and the instruction manual is 90+ pages long! However, I quickly realized that the kit was organized in a way that made it easy to complete the build using number bags of parts that corresponded to the instructions. The instructions were AWESOME! Very clear and not confusing at all. In total, the build took about 3 hours over two evenings to complete (1.5 hours each evening) The finished product is impressive! The truck is LARGE and heavy and is constructed in a way that make it really solid! The tailgate opens and the hood does too. There is even an engine inside! The suspension also articulates thanks to thick rubber bands &amp; real suspension architecture that is installed &amp; built during construction. Someone purchasing online may not notice that and think they are getting a large and a small diecast Monster Truck. The box included a die-cast Hot Wheels Monster truck. Very sturdy and well made as you would expect a Hot Wheels truck to be. The kids are still putting the big truck together. It came in individual packages that are marked very well 1 thru 8. It also came with a big paperback book that has very detailed step by step instructions to follow. For instance the child will open package #1 and follow the instructions step by step. Then open package #2 and continue til all packages are done. Our 10 year old is able to follow these very detailed instructions. I highly recommend this as a gift for anyone 10 and up. And little 3 year old sister is enjoying playing with the hot wheels diecast truck that is rated for 3+.
