The trouble was with the smaller, flatter parts particularly with the removal when he makes a mistake; he needed me to pull them out. He was able to put on the wheels and knew where to place the bigger parts like the skull. The color scheme was perfect as he just had to look at the picture and knew where to place the gray against the red. In addition, because these parts are small and could get lost amidst the other legos, the black suit of the driver with the yellow highlights was easy to spot on the floor when it fell on the floor. As a parent, I liked it better than the Twinduction that we have. Although it wasn't many pieces, which was actually nice that way it got completed. They loved how cool the car looked. It has the coolest details. The want all different ones now. The directions were simple to follow and easy to understand. It took about 20 minutes for the entire car to be built. Both of my kids have enjoyed playing with it and have played rough with it. The car has held up really well. It is the toy that is being played with the most at out house right now. There is fun in both building the car as well as racing it. I love the look of this classic car and all of the added details like the skull hood ornament and the exposed engine. Surprisingly, he was able to construct this primarily by himself by looking at the instruction manual! I helped him to find the pieces needed and snap some of the more difficult pieces needing a good amount of force together. I thought once it was completed he&rsquo;d leave it together but he enjoys taking it apart and building it again, sometimes tweaking the design to one of his own! I would recommend this toy! It was rough in the beginning and he was getting frustrated putting it together. He revisited it and made amazing progress. When he completed it he was so proud and kept saying &quot;I did it myself!&quot; His biggest challenge now is keeping his younger sisters away, they were impressed with the car too. This kit does require some adult supervision as some of the smaller pieces were hard to snap together for him.
