I&rsquo;m not sure that the bricks are officially the name brand ones, but they are compatible. The set comes with easy to read instructions, and a mini figure. Our son is a &ldquo;brick obsessed&rdquo;, and but this within minutes. His brother had actually purchased the blue car the previous day, so they had a blast racing and playing together. This was, also, a fairly decent price for what you receive. It would be a great gift option for school friends, or other small exchanges. The most excitement came with crashing and to build again. Pieces are small, so be careful no lose them. He loves building legos, and this was similar in quality to work with and build. Instructions were clear and he had a great time building the car and then playing with it like a race car. It's got very straightforward instructions for smaller kids to understand, it took about 15 mins to put together. (That's what happens when you don't read carefully). It's a Lego car that you put together, so this one may not be suitable for certain younger ages. But even if you have a child that can't follow the directions themselves, it comes with enough Lego pieces that they can create their own stuff. My son is a car enthusiast and a master builder, so a hot wheels car that you can build was right up his alley. The blocks were fairly easy to assemble and the directions were very user friendly.
