They are simple for him to use and great for imagination play. There are 3 buttons on each vehicle that produces a different motor sound and makes the headlights light up when you push them. I am a little confused over the advertising of these having friction motors as all you can do is push them around the floor. You can't pull these back and they take off on their own or anything. But my 3 year old doesn't know any better and likes them just as they are.</span>
