It looks great and the controls are perfect for a young child. Most other remote control vehicles, especially aircraft, tend to be way too complicated to control for younger children, but this one is designed perfectly. The helicopter itself is charged via the AA batteries that are loaded into the remote. Charging is pretty simple and doesn't take too long. Once charged, the helicopter runs for a decent amount of time. Unfortunately, ours barely lifted a foot or so off of the ground when flying after a full charge. We did get it to raise about 5 feet once for a minute or so, but that was it. Luckily, our son didn't mind that at all. We loved that you simply press &quot;up&quot; to start the helicopter and it does it's thing. If it gets out of control, just press the down arrow or stop in the middle and it immediately shuts down. Great feature. After about 2 days of sporadic play, we realized that ours was no longer charging. The charging input port on the helicopter seems to no longer get a contact. I handled all charging for this toy as I assumed it wouldn't take my young son long to destroy that on his own and I wanted to ensure that it wouldn't get damaged. Unfortunately, it no longer charges and he's pretty bummed. We love the concept of this helicopter and really love the simplified controls intended for young children.
