Instructions were easy to follow and having parts separated into stages was very helpful. Box says it is recommended for ages 9 and up, but with over 1,000 pieces (lots of very small parts), numerous repetitive patterns, and sometimes delicate assembly, this kit might easily overwhelm a kid working on it alone. This project is best for older children, teens, and adults. The light inside is a great idea but is only in one small part of the lantern and doesn’t project light throughout. Would’ve been 5 stars if the light went all the way through /around the lantern. Overall, a great LEGO kit.</span>

<span itemprop="description">I agree with other reviewers that some of the steps: e.g. make 8 of these, etc, are a bit tedious. A lot of small pieces that don't fit together too well makes it a challenging build experience. The final piece looks good but I wish LEGO can design it so the image would go around by a motor with the light in the center. That's how I remember how one of these lanterns work when I was a kid.</span>
