Having to build it before you use it can be beneficial in being able to inspect every feature and inch of this toy. Very confusing instructions manual which literally suggested I go to the internet to learn how to put it together, very hard to actually put together. Took pity on myself and showed it to my husband and explained the reason for getting said item and he just laughed and told me he'd take care of it. 20 minutes later, he shoved all the tiny pieces back in the box, gave me an I don't know and walked away. There are 176 pieces that allow you to build up to 4 different blasters. This was a challenge for my 10 year old but it was a great learning tool as well. I can honestly say this is a great way to keep him off of his video game. Instructions were easy with adult assistance. Once built it works pretty well. It was a little hard for him in the beginning but he has been able to set it up and play after a few times he is 7.
