They like the color change feature. They did not care for the surprise element at all and honestly the paint was very messy when reveling the truck. The truck so far has held up to this, so i would say its built well. He was so excited to see how the designs appeared on his truck and what color it was. It has a slightly different feel than other Hot Wheels Monster Trucks as the tires are plastic but that didn&rsquo;t seem to bother my son. It changes colors when you put it in ice water or very warm water, which is fun to see it change back and forth. It has a rubber squirt gun that can be attached to the roof of the car or used independently. When you pull it out of the container, it is a mystery what the truck will look like. The color appears very quickly when in hot or cold water and it holds that color a decent amount of time. He can't wait for a friend to get one so they can have monster truck battles with them. The only negative is that the squirter doesn't attach very securely to the top of the truck so it slides around. It's great that this came with a tub to fill with water for the color change that doubles as a storage container for all the parts, this way we aren't losing the squirter or connector! The color changes from a light blue, to a bright purple, which makes for a pretty dramatic effect! Unfortunately, the color changing Hot Wheels cars use regular tap temperatures for the change, and this change requires ice water for the cold.
