They enjoyed that they could dunk the cars in water and they liked launching cars off the ramp of the truck. However, they were hoping for a more drastic color change. As a parent, i noticed if the temperature wasn't almost exactly what was specified in the instructions, then the color change didn&rsquo;t go well, and you need to change the water frequently to keep that temperature up. Even with the minimum amount of water in the truck and everything closed, it still had to stay stationary or it would splash and leak. That being said, I do have a question for those of you reading this. What is more fun than Monster Trucks and Water Play? If you answered nothing, then you would be right! At least that is if you ask my boys. They endured tons of fun &quot;putting out fires&quot; and really testing the durability of the product itself. We are talking puddle hopping, sliding the monster truck down steps, and more. My boys have tried it all with this product. The color shifting feature is cooler than it sounds and not at all gimmicky. My 5 year old was amazed each time and called it magic. It was a great item for sensory play and wonderful opportunity to talk about the science behind color shifting. The truck construction was the same great quality that we all love. There is assembly required but it was pretty easy. My grandson loves launching the truck but the lever is a little hard to work. It does require cold and warm water to change colors which is a little messy so I recommend playing with it outside. The entire set took under five minutes to put together, with adult assistance. It's such a fun item to use outdoors on a warm, sunny day or even in the tub/shower. He loved ejecting it over and over. The fact that it was color shifting was a huge plus for him but he did need some parental involvement with the hot water. He even enjoyed putting on all the decals. My 9 year old granddaughter enjoyed it almost as much as he did and they played with it together very happily for quite sometime which does not happen often. He absolutely loves this track set. It was super easy to put together, even the sticker placement was easy enough. Once its all together you just simply add some water and let the play commence! My son is 5yrs old and pulling back the leaver was easy for him. It comes with a color changing Monster truck and two cars for &quot;crushing&quot;. This is such a high quality playset that provides endless play time. As a Mom, I loved the ease of opening the box. The perforated back was so nice and easy to open compared to having to tear off box ends, get scissors, etc. Everything was packed in nice and neat. The instructions/stickers were right on top. Instructions were clear. Pictures were easy to follow - my four-year-old son built most of the set himself. Playtime was of course a blast. He loved how the toy incorporated hot and cold-water bins so he could change Five Alarm whenever he wanted. Launching the trucks to get them to smash and break the fire wall is his new favorite activity. This set has yet to be put away and we've had it for a few weeks.
