A throw back to my youth when I used to watch Batman on TV and the movies. matt black. Well made in a nice case. Display stand included as well. All cars rolled smoothly on the floor and table top. Solid construction and well made. While my nephew thought the set was cool and enjoyed playing with them, I felt like these were cheaply made. If these were made better, the replay factor would be higher. My almost 4 year old is obsessed with matchbox cars. So to have a set with some of his favorite characters was beyond exciting to him! He had played with them every day since we got them, and always wanting to bring them to bed. Don&rsquo;t worry parents. They haven&rsquo;t broken yet when stepped on from not being put away, but boy do they hurt! All the toys have a quality weight and smooth rolling motion. They all have nice paint in the right spots without any running or smear. Every vehicle evokes the spirit of all five classic Batman cars. The only noticeable exception is perhaps the most iconic Batmobile, the 1989 car seems to take a more stylized approach with exaggerated proportions and a matte black instead of the original gloss black. This set would make a fine purchase for the toy enthusiast, Hot Wheels Collector or Batman fan. My hubby and boys love that there are the different cars. The vehicles are durable and extremely detailed replicas from the Batman franchise. These cars keep kiddos engaged in hours of imaginative play. The particular set I received had great tempos and did not have any unusual defects. There's a great variety of Batmobiles to choose from.
