My kids love playing with them in there play area. My son loves them because he can make little garages with them. My daughter loves them because she can make houses with them. They are painted wood and nice and smooth with nice rounded edges. They are not magnetic or sticky so they are a great challenge for kids to stack and are easy to knock over. Fun for kids of all ages and the tray is a nice holder if you make a volcano shape. I have a 5 year and 1 year old I always struggle to find a toy they can both share and this one was a success! Not only does the toy come with various blocks it has a wooden platform that they can use to build the blocks up. My toddlers loved them. Even the older kids liked to play with them. The blocks are very nice quality. Smooth edges, bright colors and perfect for small hands. They have a nice weight to them, making them easy to stack into towers. The wooden board that came with the blocks is nice and good quality. Good for having a firm surface to play with them on but, I wish that the sides were higher. That way it would make a nice storage tray to keep the blocks all together. overall I really like these blocks. I would recommend them for toddler kids and up. The brightly colored wooden blocks are the perfect size and weight for toddlers and early preschoolers working on their gross motor skills. The rectangular shape seems to provide better balance than just traditional cube blocks. The colors are muted not quite pastel rainbow which is really nice and have an almost calming feel while being aesthetically pleasing to both parent and child. Our toddler has enjoyed playing with just the blocks as well as incorporating them into play time with some of their other toys including little people. The creative freedom that the rectangles and cubes offer is endless and play can go from simple to complex by adding just a few additional elements. The blocks are not water proof or resistant which we found to be a little disappointing because we sanitize toys frequently and I worry about trying to keep them clean in the long run. I appreciate the company&rsquo;s efforts to ensure that the blocks are painted with a non-toxic finish that does not chip or peel easily. The tray they came in was a big factor for us not giving this 5 stars. It took me as an adult some creative thinking to figure out how to store the blocks on the tray when playtime was over and while it&rsquo;s &lsquo;pretty&rsquo; this way, it&rsquo;s not logical to think my toddler will be able to duplicate. The kids immediately drew to me as I peeled off the clear plastic and top cardboard layer. The base is wooden itself for the kids to build and play with the only draw back is it doesn&rsquo;t have the space to store all of the blocks when finished. The blocks are sturdy. My 5 year old loves building with them and my 18 month old liked playing with them as well. My 5 year old held the most interest for a long time. He built many things and said the colors are so cool. He loved every minute of t playing with them and still yet chooses them after over a week. Thank you Mattel!
