<span itemprop="description">[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Ariel’s Chariot Adventure is great for children who love the classic The Little Mermaid film.
Ariel has arms and head that rotate and she can bend at the hip to sit (with fins straight out). One arm is straight and one is bent up. (This is kind of weird to me when her elbow goes up into the air but doesn’t bother my kids.) Her arms and the bottom of her fins feel like a softer rubber/plastic. She has held up well to lots of play. My 8-year-old especially loves the almost see through fins and sparkles on the lower half of her body.
We love the detail of the chariot (even the underside has details of the ocean waves). When the chariot is rolled, the dolphin’s “pulling” the chariot move (almost in a circular motion) making it look like they’re swimming. The dolphins move when rolled across a hard floor, low pile rug and carpet. The seat of the chariot has a plastic piece to hold Ariel (or a similar sized rider) around the waist.
Sebastian has an indent on the bottom and there are three different pegs to place Sebastian on the chariot (one on the wave and two on the chariot seat). My kids wanted Sebastian to be able to ride the dolphin but there isn’t a place for him. One downside is we were unable to to have Sebastian and Ariel cannot ride on the chariot seat together.
The package says ages 4+ due to small parts. The packaging was also easy to open. Altogether a fun toy for lots of undersea imaginative play.</span>
