The pieces are not too small to lose and the detail on the castle is very cute. Unfortunately with the pieces that came along with it, and the ability of the castle set made to almost travel along with, it was difficult storing the pieces within it. It doesn&rsquo;t ruin the toy as a whole, but I almost wanna say it was deceiving to think that the pieces that came with it would fit in the castle tote. She thinks that she is a princess and the fact that she can bring the toy with her on the go she loves it even more. Before opening she turned the package over and saw Moana and Maui with their boat. She then went looking for that set that she liked at a cousin's house previously. After not finding it she opened (with my help) all of the pieces and looked at them one by one. She was immediately drawn to the Cinderella doll and bed. She had the Cinderella go up and down the steps with the play house opened on the floor and she thought this was great. The dog tried the steps too but then she moved on to the bed toy. She tried the little Cinderella on the bed and said &quot;night night&quot; and seemed happy. When she opened the house to sit as intended she took a while to get the bed to stay on the little floor shelf. Then she added Cinderella. Frustration ensued. Every time she put the Cinderella on the bed both fell off the shelf. She wound up throwing the bed, Cinderella and the house across the floor. When she walked away, I set the house up straight with the bed on the shelf and the dog and what she thought was a dog bed up. Since the purple table did not hold the dog she stopped playing with that and went back to the Cinderella going up the steps to bed. Once again she had trouble getting the bed to stay on the shelf and when she got it there, once again the Cinderella doll fell off at each attempt causing additional frustration. She is exactly 2 1/2 years old. The size of this item is off scale. The house and shelf need to be deeper and the bed needs at least 2 little tabs to give the child a chance to fit the Cinderella onto it. The details on the table make it useless. I love that all the pieces can be easily stored inside so they don&rsquo;t get lost. It&rsquo;s easy for my daughter to carry herself and she loves the Cinderella and dog figures.
