My kids and I are very familiar with Uno, but never having played Blokus took some time to figure out. We haven't actually figured out all the rules and strategies, but I'm interested in figuring it out with my older kids. I do think that it may be a bit too much for my 6 year old as he wants to do everything else with the pieces.</span>

However, the rules are pretty complicated. The cards don't really seem to add much unless you have 4 players. Even then, it doesn't really change the game that much. It's actually pretty easy to still play like normal while using the cards, but maybe we just don't get the rules. So for our family, it's a toss up, but I think we'll just stick with our original Blokus.</span>

The pieces are fun and colorful and the cards looked familiar like uno cards. However, the instructions were a bit too complicated for my 6 and 8-year-old and therefore the game was slow and confusing. I really wanted to love it, but it is not as easy to learn as traditional Uno. On the plus side, my kids had a blast arranging the pieces on the board and have used it for open-ended play.</span>

The game needs to be played with four people. Otherwise, players must play more than one color, which I found to be too much and too confusing, especially while trying to play with and teach my kids. I wish there were an easier way for a 2 or 3 person variation.
I also found some of the cards to be a little confusing.
It is a fun take on these two games and I think we will get some fun out of it, when we are able to play with 4 players.</span>

I love the concept and it is a lot of fun, after a few practice runs. We had to play it a few times to really understand it, the manual is a lifesaver. I would say its better for kiddos 10 and up. As a mom I do appreciate that there 4 plastic bags include to keep the cards and pieces separate!!</span>
