The 4 year old likes it. She has been taking it to the pool and in the bath since she received it. I do like the little critter pal it came with and so does she. She thinks the zebra outfit is cute(I as a parent do not, maybe if it didnt have the hand and foot covers it would be less Furry and more Costume-y), and she enjoyed opening all the little envelopes for the surprises. The only part she was disappointed in is the color change feature -it took us forever and a day to figure out to use an ice cube and for whatever reason we expected more things to change colors. It would have been really fun if her outfit color changed or her legs maybe in pool or bath water. Doll is made well and includes little boots, a pet and several other accessories. Outfit is soft and would make an excellent Halloween outfit for the 6&quot; doll. There is a special feature that allows you to change colors or make things appear when you add warm water and then make it change back whrn you add cold water. You can make hearts appear on her cheeks. Sometimes though the color change does not show up well. She loves the costumes! She got a penguin and loves that it comes with a little penguin pet and surprise for the Chelsea doll. She loves Barbies. I don&rsquo;t think she realized that it was a Barbie that was in costume until after she removed the dog costume head. We read the instructions which required warm/cold water to change the Barbie and the little dog (pink cheeks on Barbie, eyes on dog). Unfortunately when we submerged the dog and the Barbie, nothing happened in either cold or warm/hot water.
