It is easy to clean and relatively quiet, especially on the low setting, which was sufficient for my bedroom. My water is very hard so the filter gets dirty pretty quickly but I clean it with vinegar every couple of weeks to extend it's life. I like the UV technology to kill germs and keep it odor free, unlike other humidifiers I have owned. The light may be a little bright for sleeping for some folks - I would say that's the only negative. It works really well for any season, when my son gets a congested or stuffy nose. It is useful in our climate in Southern California, because it's so dry here. My son also has allergies and he doesn't like to take medicine but will allow this in his room. It runs very quietly. You can use Vicks pads with this for a wonderful aromatherapy added benefit. The consensus is still out on that one- some nights have certainly improved but not all. I also have incredibly dry skin in the winter and I do feel this has helped with that. My skin is still dry but it&rsquo;s not horrible which it always is this time of year. Lastly, it proves a wonderful white noise that helps me sleep! As far as the actual device- it&rsquo;s so easy to use. Just fill with water and turn on. Very quiet despite my enjoyment of the white noise and the &ldquo;gurgle&rdquo; you always get with humidifiers is few and far between. Filling it up and running it, the tank water seems to last about a day and half in my house and running it consistently, but it's very easy to fill. That being said as long as I'm not directly facing the light I ignore it just fine.
