However she was disappointed right out of the box because it&rsquo;s not a mermaid. It doesn&rsquo;t even look like a mermaid. Perfect for a 5 year old that loves to take the dolls into the bath. My granddaughter took her and before I knew it, straight in the water she went. Her original outfit had a star pattern and once placed in the water it revealed a different outfit. Great idea; kids love a doll with extra clothing. She also comes with a skirt and boots to go with her new outfit. If it wasn&rsquo;t for the boot, she would not be able to stand alone. Once Chelsea got wet, the original outfit dissolved and left a white chalky substance on her and in the tub. With a little bit of rubbing, it did come off. Her hair seems to be of good quality. After being submerged in the water it did not change and surprisingly with only a few shakes, dried and bounced back to its original form. My little one doesn't own one of these tiny Barbie Dolls so she'll definitely be excited when she opens it! These dolls have been around forever because of the high quality. They hold the kids attention for a good while which is good for their imagination. They look realistic and are so fun to play with! The pink hair is just a bonus. She takes this doll everywhere where she can put it in water.
