I was going to have her do it daily like an advent, but that didn&rsquo;t work so well since it wasn&rsquo;t Christmas 😆. Each piece goes nicely with the house that doubles as the calendar. It would be nice if pieces could be added to the house before all days were open tho. The packaging for each day does come out, but the back is clear so the child can see what&rsquo;s next if you take it out before the last day. It is very festive and brightly colored, the advent calendar itself turns into a house that can be played with after all the surprises have been opened. The house is plastic and very sturdy and the levels were easy to assemble. The inside is also very festive, detailed and cute, lots gingerbread and Christmas decorations. It came with two characters and lots of accessories. The accessories included furniture like beds, a stove, a seesaw, a refrigerator, a fireplace and even a cute pink Christmas tree. Only minor thing that seemed odd was some pieces (like the Christmas tree) didnt have a hole at the bottom to connect to the house. For 25 days she gets a surprise every day. Some of those days, the surprise itself has an additional surprise like a hidden compartment for Polly and her friend to hide in (e.g., cake and present). My daughter especially likes the house that comes with the product. It adds to her imaginative play allowing her to decorate as she sees fit and to throw festive parties for Polly. The house is also a great place to store her daily surprises. My daughter&rsquo;s only complaint is that it is sometimes difficult to open the doors on the advent calendar, but with a little help from mom it&rsquo;s an easy fix. She got excited to see what she would get each day. The front of this calendar is so adorable and looks so cute displayed with just the front. The calendar's back can be used to play as a house with or without the shelves in once all the prizes have been picked. This Polly Pocket Advent Calendar comes with 2 characters, 27 accessories and 3 shelves and 4 dividers. A few of the accessories come with two in a bag. My daughter found that the smaller prizes were more difficult to get out but the bigger ones (like the beds) were easier. The tree, cake, oven, present and refrigerator all open. The see saw can fit the 2 characters by sliding them into the seats. The 2 beds can fit on top of each other to make bunk beds and can be placed with either color on top but I did notice that they only fit when the pillows are opposite each other. The shelves do have to go in a certain way (shelves with the hearts on top and the one with a bow goes in the middle). I did find the dividers a bit challenging to put in and I do not think you can interchange them as I could not fit them on the bottom even though it looks like you should be able to . My daughter liked playing without the dividers. There are some pegs to secure some of the toys but she (nor I) could get the toys to stay on them..they would just fall off and knock other things down. Overall she really liked the toys and playing with the house and the Christmas theme was adorable. Each door reveals a new cute prize/piece to the dollhouse. Once all the doors are open, you pull the cardboard and plastic away to reveal a dollhouse. The floors and walls are easy to install (just slide them into the openings). Majority of the pieces have tiny holes in the bottom of them to snap them into the little pegs on the floor so they hold still. My daughter enjoyed playing with this and it held her attention! We especially like that the stove and fridge open up.
