The radio works great, better than I expected! We like having the 2 different speeds although he likes the fastest one! I recommend buying a second battery to have on hand as the one that comes with it takes 18 hours to charge before you can use it the first time and after a half hour of riding it has to charge for 6 hours. We bought this for our son&amp;rsquo;s second birthday (knowing it would be a little old for him) and all his older cousins had a blast riding it around. It would greatly depend on his weight, however. I believe the maximum recommended weight is around 80-90 lbs (I would have to check our manual to be sure). I love that it comes with two speed settings and you can lock it on the lower speed until more competent driving had developed.
