The quality of the product is really good, very comparable to that of Lego. However, we found this set a lot harder to build then a lego set. It's cool how the figures look more like a mini action figure vs the typical Lego person. But putting thr figures together and building the set were trickier. Mainly because he doesn't have alot of building experience. The quality of the pieces and finished product were great. The colors are vibrant. He loves this vehicle and figures. They have held up to him playing with them, and also are currently on display. My son always finds the little men first and plays with those while making me (Mom) build the models. While the directions are clear it does take a lot of finger and hand strength to assemble these, it took us about 1.5 hours mostly me putting things together. The wings of the plane have these spinning things that he likes and also the large seat area for the pilot. There are also mini boosters that are moveable and helps it land. The figurines were tough to keep put together and one of the pieces to the set broke while building. Some of the more intricate pieces would not stay together well, even after retrying many times. This Halo set is medium level complexity (ages 8 &amp; up) and has two different configurations available. My family voted to try the configuration on the picture first. We enjoy taking turns completing the various steps. It comes with four figures and accessories that have very tiny pieces to be put together. We kept having to search for pieces that rolled off of the table. I would recommend a mat to help keep everything together. The set also comes with a very handy orange tool to pry the bricks apart in case of mistakes. This set is a great use of our tech-free time. My eight year old wanted to put it together by himself but after awhile he got frustrated and wanted help. The problem we encountered was that there were a few pieces missing and that's where the frustration came from. After looking at it, we were able to keep building without the missing pieces and it didn't effect the end product. There is a piece that you have to punch out and then use to wrap around one of the pieces. We ended up not using it because the lego pieces wouldn't stay together and kept popping up so we just took it off. When we were all done building my son was excited to start playing with it. We were happy with the end result. It was smaller than we expected it to be and the quality of the pieces were okay. Some of the details on the pieces don&rsquo;t seem like they will stay on long. But that in no way deterred her interest in the Mega Construx UNSC Wasp Onsalught. To her, they are just cool soldier guys fighting. And the soldier guys are, in fact, pretty cool! They aren't the classic figure that comes with some building toys; these are fully articulated mini action figures. The most surprising thing about this set is the 2-in-1 aspect. There is the main build you see on the cover of the box, with an additional build option with the same pieces. There is a helpful QR code to scan for directions with this second build. This is a clever way to get more use of the set. All in all, this is a great set, even if you have no idea about the story.
