The instructions were easy to follow , and the kids got excited at every stage to see what would happen , the smoke was pure genius and the kids couldn&rsquo;t get enough of it. My kids are very sensory so this was amazing for them . The surprise mixie is gorgeous and the kids loved it. All her little noises and the noises of the lamp added to the magic . I can&rsquo;t praise this toy enough . It&rsquo;s great quality and super cute . We have played with it for hours and done the sequence to the reveal multiple times . Only one issue was our lid hit a bit stuck opening for the big reveal but otherwise it&rsquo;s a big thumbs up from us . My children truly believed this was magic, especially when the smoke was coming out of the lamp (smoke refills are available separately which is handy) doing the initial spell they were amazed when the ring appeared, then saying the magic words watching the toy pop up as they lifted the lid they were very excited. You can do this again and again by turning the dial on the top. My daughter has spent hours playing with this, and found it especially funny when it farted!! She nearly set the fire alarm off but we love her enthusiasm. She was sent to us by @comerounduk @supermoosetoys and we decided to try and wake her up after hundreds of years. We followed a lovely easy to follow guide with pictures, it was so fun following this and the little treats you get along the way. We had a moment where our fire alarm threatened to go off so make sure you do this in a well ventilated area. Once we had freed Jenny from her lamp repeating the process was super simple and the kids loved creating more smoke and revealing the items over and over. It is such a fun toy the lamp has been used for making afternoon tea and the kids have even used it to reveal other items whilst Jenny Genie looks on from her perch on the ring. Despite our two boys getting a pink magic lamp, did this not bother them at all. The boys were extremely excited to open the lamp and find out what was inside; the packaging was great and the boys were extremely intrigued. We found the YouTube video very help and used that through the whole process; by doing this, my sons were able to complete each task with ease. You do have to keep pausing the video but that didn&rsquo;t both us. The tasks were great and very interactive and my sons loved it! When the genie appeared that loved her! They named her Gem and cuddled and squeezed her all night! The replay value is great; my sons loved putting Gem back and then completing the tasks again! We told everybody we knew about this toy and some friends even bought one for their daughters! The spell, lights, sounds and 'smoke' bring the toy perfectly together and a cute little sidekick at the end of it is an added bonus! We throughly enjoyed casting our spell and playing with our new Mixie at the end of it. A few issues I noticed were the sound- the toy is very loud and at the end of a busy day the last thing I want for my overloaded sensitive brain is to hear the noises it makes and the songs it plays. Sometimes the toy got a bit stuck in the reveal and didn't pop up but that didn't seem to dampen my daughters excitement for it! The cute little added tricks that the mixie can do make extended play better and the fact the toy cam reveal most other toys is a pretty nice feature!! The 'smoke' didn't seem to have a smell and bellowed out alot which is great and adds to the effects! I like the fact you can refill the toy for future uses and encourage passing toys down instead of landfill! The only other downside is the amount of instructions! This is such a magical toy!! My five year old loves it however we did find the instructions slightly complicated and found that at times we had somehow missed a step. My daughter loves how interactive this toys is, she was mesmerised by the smoke and amazed my the magical Genie reveal. My daughter loves she Genie and hasn&rsquo;t put it down since, she has even shown her friends on the school run. We both like that you can redo the reveal over and over again and that she can also hide her own toys in the lamp. Overall the the technology and manufacturing of this toy of impressive. My only comments is that the instructions are a bit too lengthly and I feel younger children might struggle without adult help and the lid to the lamp can be a bit of a struggle to open. My 5 year old loved this lamp! There's quite a few step by step instructions to go through. I would recommend having a read through them first before you set the kids set loose on it, so they don't miss any of the magic due to figuring out instructions. You can buy mist refills for the lamp which is fab, we have used ours loads and there's no sign of it running out yet. The steps for &ldquo;freeing&rdquo; the genie from the lamp were easy enough to follow with my help and it worked like a charm first time, however when my 6 yo tries it by herself sometimes it takes her a few goes. My daughter loves the magic mixies range and this genie lamp did not disappoint. It's interactive features far excellent the original cauldron mixies my daughter has. The smoke produced was amazing, the lights and sound effects were fantastic and heightened the suspense for the big genie reveal.
