It was very easy to pull out of the box, add batteries and start playing within a couple min and my 5 year needed no instructions once I turned it on. The reason I’m giving 4 stars is because some of the pegs across the board don’t light up as well as others and the kick stand to keep it up is a little shallow making the unit unsteady, but overall I would purchase in the future for gifts because it keeps kids occupied for a while!</span>
