I bought this before my Husband went for deployment in Afghanistan I thought this would be a great activity for my kids and also to take away their minds from missing their daddy. A great distraction because my kids got something to look forward during weekends and when their off track from school. My kids are so happy so am I. I'm surprised how much weight this little kayak can hold because when my husband came back he get to use it too lol. His not skinny his over 170 pounds although we plan to buy him his own one day when I save up enough money. We love this kayak and I highly recommend this for the family. The kids easily figure how to use it by themselves. The only thing that we have had to do to it is replace the drain stopper after the kids took it out to see if they could sink the kayak. the kayak still floated enough to get it to shore, but they managed to lose the plug. The oldest whittled a stick to fit in its place. They are light and easy to maneuver and have provided hours and hours of fun!. They are extremely durable. The kids drag the across the parking lot, down the beach, they try to sink them, they lay on them, stand on the load them up with multiple kids etc. We have used and abused these kayaks for many years and they still look and preform great. The grandchildren feel independent and in control of their own fun and as we watch from shore, we know they are using a well designed kayak. They fit easily in my suv, and they are so light, I could carry one with one hand and still haul other items to the beach. My kids (8, 11) could also carry them. It's hard for them to intentionally fall off because they are so stable. Even my little 5-year-old is able to maneuver it with ease.
