Disappointing
Set 42111 was going to be my return to medium-sized full function Technic sets. I passed on the GT3, Chiron and Sian because apart of a challenging build, I'm not sure where I would place them or what to do with these. I bought the 42093 Corvette last year but found it underwhelming; no suspension and an engine with little moving sticks?! So I had high hopes for 42111. Didn't happen though.
Yes, it offers most functionality I want, like suspension, steering and opening doors. But I was utterly disappointed with the overall build! Not only does this car lack a moving interior steering wheel or even proper dimensions - the wheel is too big, horizontal and doesn't line up correctly with the driver seat - the sturdiness of the model is far below what I am used from Lego (I started playing in the 80's). Various pieces are attached with one single stud (front grille, rear lights, rear bumper) and these fall apart fairly easily. For a model with 'play functions' this is unacceptable. At least the Mustang was designed to be pretty and it is, I own it too. Sure, this Dodge isn't pretty and doesn't look much like the real thing, but it's Technic. However, the roof of the Charger is wobbly and all the body panels can be twisted and turned. Doors don't open smoothly and can be pushed beyond 90 degrees. I could bash on for a while.
Why still 3 stars? I enjoyed the overall build. The chassis is sturdy and fully functional. I will use the Charger to modify it into a Roadrunner; I'm not into F&F. Lego will remain my favourite pass time. But I'd like to ask current Lego designers to spend some time with sets from the 80's and be amazed by the bomb-proofness of those builds.

Great re-introduction to Lego Technic
I have recently rediscovered Lego, and this was the first Technics set I have built since I was kid! It was a fun build, with lots of interesting building techniques (and a few questionable ones!) The end result looks great, and makes a striking addition to my car collection (Mustang, VW camper-van, Fiat and the London bus)
I just purchased the Land-Rover Defender, and I am looking forward to tackling something a bit more challenging!
BTW... this set is designed for 10 years and up - I cant imagine myself as a 10 year old building this set - it was quite fiddly in places, and the instructions were a bit vague and hard to follow in a few places. Kids these days must be a lot more patient! LOL!

Fun Build and Cool Model
First off, I think the look of this is much better in person than in the photos. It is also larger than I was expecting. The building process and using the mechanical features was fun. The interactive features of this set are the following, the hood opens to see the entire engine, the doors open to revel the seat and steering wheel on the driver's side and the NOS take in the passenger side. You can move passenger side tank to easily access the shift lever to engage the wheelie stand. The stand locks in place to lift the front of the car off the ground. The trunk opens to show two extra NOS tanks. Each wheel has independent suspension, and there is a steering mechanism on the back between the trunk and the the window opening. The back wheels engage the powertrain and hook up to the engine moving the pistons up and down in rotation as the wheels move.
The lines stay true to the car.

It is a nice collection piece to compliment the likes of the Mustang and Aston Martin. I would have liked this set better as an Expert set vice the Technic range but I have a secondary interest in the cars in the Technic range. Would like to see more classic cars/trucks (movie or otherwise) in the Expert Range. This is a nice easy afternoon build if you are distracted and plays well with the movie for said distraction. A couple of sections where the connections are dubious so if purchased as a play toy be prepared to constantly stick pieces back on.

Good but could've been perfect.
I had fun building the Charger and it is good to see lego bringing more things like this to the line up.
The build itself is fairly straight forward and the final product functions really well. I particularly like the wheely ramp, which works well when displaying the car either on a desk or even in a cabinet.
My only gripe is that the finish could've been better e.g. the wheel rims are generic and should've been the style more akin to the original design. However as a whole and for the price it's a great lego technic kit, plus if you're a fan of the Fast & Furious franchise I'd definitely recommend it.

Great model that doesn't deserve the hate.
It's a technic set, says so on the box, this is not a ucs/ creator set, this model is priced at a slight premium (probably to cover the license costs?) For a technic model it's got a lot of nice details, but during the build it does lack some rigidity in the chassis due to the minimum of support structures.
The wheel rims feel a bit out of place due to the style not being screen accurate and a dull grey and the use of red peaces where black / chrome should and the grey pieces that replicate the chrome makes it look a bit cheaper than it should, but are small niggles for the overall product.
The instruction booklet has some some pics of dom's chargers from all the movies which is a nice touch, Though the attachment of modules is poorly rendered by lacking the connection points just a ' this is where is goes figure it out' logic. so fo new lego builders it might be a small issue.

A great start to a Technic car collection
I was hesitant at first to get this set because of all the complaints that it wasn't brick-built or as aesthetic as the Mustang but honestly, I'm glad I looked past it, because this turned out to be a really great set. Unlike the Mustang, which kinda just sits there looking pretty, doing nothing, this thing features a moving engine with a supercharger (my favourite) a VERY simple yet wonderfully-engineered chassis just begging you to modify it, and full working suspension to boot (we haven't seen working suspension in a Technic car for this scale and price in at least 15 years).
No, it's not perfect. The body could use a bit more refinement, especially with all the gaps and holes, and not sure these wheels were the right choice, but hey, that's where one's imagination and creativity comes in.
As a set, it's sturdy, has lots of play-ability and modding potential and best of all, it's affordable.
Also, Lego, PLEASE make the Supra. Don't leave Dom racing all on his own!!
PS- I already did some minor mods of my own; swapped out the wheels for slightly bigger and more realistic ones (in my opinion) and raised the supercharger intake slightly as it is on Dom's original charger in the first FnF film.

this set feels like it was very rushed, the suspension system is nice but unfortunately completely unusable sue to the lack of structural strength in the model. The vehicle breaks before enough pressure is applied to fully actuate the suspension. The vehicle also twists to a very high degree. I did my research before buying this and there were some mixed reviews about this product. I am a super fast and furious fan, so I had to have it anyways.
This car looks amazing from the front and back, but it looks terrible from the sides.
Back suspensions don't work as good as the front ones. Not sure if this is because the back of the car is heavier or the suspensions aren't just good. The back suspensions feels like they do not want to come back up when you put pressure on them. but the front goes down and up very smoothly.
The best feature of this car is the looks of the engine and the functioning supercharger belt!

Pass on this one.
I found the build annoying. Several times there were parts left flapping about. More than one you had to stick a pin adjacent something else access being difficult.
Far too much play in the front steering. For the price paid the steering wheel should have articulated. Flimsy at the front makes it less of a play model.
Too much torsion in the body. The new rectangular framing piece needs support. For me too the bricks felt.... extra pasticy. Can't quite explain it. Felt flimsier than older bricks I have.
I raced the build "challenging" because the annoyance tested my patience rather than my skill set.
Not recommended.

A fun, challenging build. I don't do a whole lot of Technic sets, but I did really enjoy this one. Trust the instructions, there were a couple steps where I just had to do what was told and not worry about what I was actually building.

The build was a good experience with an awesome finished product. Favorite part is the engine with the moving timing belt/chain. The interior of the vehicle (driver's cockpit) is pretty plain and does bot have too many details such as display gauges etc. Stickers for this build were minimal. I hope that stickers for future builds are canceled and the actual Lego pieces have the appropriate pictures on them (then would not need to spend time aligning stickers). The built in vehicle stand is a great addition too.

I purchased this set for myself to pass the time during lockdown , decided on this set as the Lego representation of the dodge Charger looked great
Found the build both challenging and very rewarding ,overall a very enjoyable experience.
Did wonder why the wheels were grey and not chrome like in the real car ?
However well done Lego , now on the lookout for my next set
