I didn't start building until after Christmas, the set is ingenious in design and extremely well designed I really enjoyed working on it. This is the first time I have ever been missing a piece in a lego set, I've always found if one was missing it was a mistake I made. However this set was missing 3 pieces that were just mis picked completely. Of course Lego handled it quickly and easily. The only other knock I have against it is there is room for 4 speeder bikes, it says 4 speeder bikes on the display plate and it only comes with 2. Definitely not a deal breaker but a head scratcher for sure. In the end I highly recommend this set!
Date published: 2022-01-12

Rated 3 out of 5 by RickS from Great set to display... This was by far the most frustrating set to build. Too many pieces are poorly secured and easily fall off or become loose during the build. This was especially problematic when needing to apply pressure to lock technic pieces in place. Almost everywhere you push to lock the pieces in will cause others to become loose or fall off. Due to how fragile the set is, it is not conducive to playing with. It looks great as a static display once you get through the frustrating build.
Date published: 2022-01-12

Rated 3 out of 5 by EmperorSlickBenny from Amazing details, but flimsy The AT-AT is very similar to the recent Millenium Falcon and Star Destroyer UCS models. Amazing details, but the final assembly is so flimsy that it is hard to move or do anything other than simply have it on display at an easy to reach location. The leg construction is actually fantastic. Despite the repetitiveness, which can't be avoided, this is probably the sturdiest part of the model, and even then, it's not the best. The smartest thing the designers put in were the little rubber wheels in the very bottom of the feet to prevent slippage. The main complaint begins when putting the "shell" together. Basically, nothing is solid. The sides of the head are literally held together by two technic pieces that do not lock into anything, but are simply place holders. Any sudden movement, and they can come off. The main construction of the head has fallen apart on me three times while simply trying to get the pilots into their seat. The three sections of the right/left shell are linked together with simple grabbers, and then hooked on to the main body with two technic, that again, do not lock in. The side door on the center section of the shell is the worst designed piece of LEGO I have ever seen. I get what it was trying to do, and the technique involved was interesting, but it is simply poorly done. While I have enjoyed assembling this model, and it looks fantastic, I dare not move it beyond my house for display. If this were a LEGO IDEAS design, there is no way it would have passed muster. This is simply too flimsy a model for a true UCS model. I recommend it only for those who "must have" this model. Do not try to play with it. Do not try to do anything but display it in your house. It will fall apart on you, and you will get frustrated. They tried to do too many cute and interesting things and it comes together poorly.
Date published: 2022-01-12

Rated 5 out of 5 by jpm1121 from exceptionnel lorsque le montage démarre on ne peut se rendre compte du rendu final tout simplement éblouissant. LEGO has really improved the packing of the large sets and mine arrived without a ding. Set is a must have for Star Wars collectors. I am thrilled LEGO did a minifigure scale model for this set. Build is smooth and lacks a repetitive feel. Scale is magnificent, extremely imposing. About 50 minifigures fit comfortably inside, making the scale really one of LEGOs best. Four minifigures in the cockpit alone make recreating scenes excellent. Only issues with the set are the four seats in the lower section by the pillars. These four corner seats are too tight to allow a minifigure to be seated. I was worried about missing pieces but ultimately only one large curved piece was missing from the entire set. One of the most challenging and fun sets I've put together. I really need to crack open that Falcon now, or perhaps get the Star Destroyer.
Date published: 2022-01-07

Rated 5 out of 5 by Troy C from Giant fun build This has been on my wish-list since I got back into Lego 8 years ago. I see some negative reviews that I understand the frustration, but you have to know what you're getting into with this set. It is not a toy to be played with. It's a display piece. I had no trouble with it standing up and adjusting the legs. Really my only complaint is the armor on the boy. It just kind of sits there with some pegs, and it's very fragile, touching it almost seems like certain doom. My adult son came over right after I finished it. I stepped out of the room for a minute, came back and all the body armor had fallen off from bothe side. "I swear I just touched it dad." Well, he tried to open the side door, and the armor fell off. Is what is is, I was able to put it back together reasonably quick. My only other gripe is the head. It seems the side panels (which are also loosely held on) don't quite close enough, leaving a gap between the top plate and the side plates. Again, not a huge deal. Just me nit-picking. As far as the build goes, it was fun watching it come together. The feet and legs were at time tedious, but I set it up so I was building the 4 feet at the same time like a production line sort of. I'm not an experienced Technic builder at all so this was by far the most experience I've had with technic bricks. If I never see a blue snap-in coupling again I'll be a happy man. I swear 6000 of the 6785 pieces in this thing are those little blue things LOL. But, it all made for very sturdy legs and frame. Wish it came with more snow troopers but that's life. Also, my wife bought this for me, opening her own account not realizing that there are 5200 VIP points that come with this. I've emailed Lego to see about transferring them to my account, so fingers crossed. Great set, Lego continues to impress.
Date published: 2022-01-04

Rated 4 out of 5 by Helios from I'm going to check out a meteor This was a challenging build. Now, I have absolutely zero interest in "playing" with my lego once built because I'm not 8 years old, but I respect that there may be those that appreciate that sort of thing. As such, I can understand the thinking behind designing a model in such a way that you can easily take off exterior pieces to look inside, etc., etc. This is executed relatively well with the Millennium Falcon, as the not secured pieces sit on the top of the model and so do not really move around when moving the thing. This frustratingly fragile construction however... Well, as I said in my title, this is one of those rare instances that the one star reviews actually got it right. I can deal with a slightly frustrating building experience. I am even able to appreciate the new and complex techniques that the designers created for this set; the mechanism by which the legs are adjusted is a feat of engineering genius. However, the genius ends there because the entirety of the model's exterior hangs on literally by a couple of notches sitting on axle pins. These are not just the top pieces, but the entirety of the side pieces, which I must mention are four separate pieces held on by two hinges each. What does this mean? Good luck moving the thing. No, seriously. The moment you lift it, the body work swings out and quite literally breaks itself apart. It doesn't even break apart in nice, full pieces. One hinge is left behind, another couple of pieces bounce off into the darkness that is that incredibly hard to reach, never dusted area behind your exceedingly heavy piece of furniture. Within a matter of seconds, you're standing there gape mouthed unable to decide what pieces to even try to save. So really? This was done in the interest of playability? The only playing you'll be doing is hide and go seek for the splintered off pieces that will invariably disappear the moment you try remove the side panels. I'm considering keeping it in a hermetically sealed vacuum chamber lest I accidentally glance at it too quickly and the wind from my neck turn topple it over. As some final parting words, I expect Lego to reply to my review the same way it replied to other reviews pointing out the same thing. That is to say, they'll apologize for the experience I had and suggest I reach out to customer support if I'm having problems. I urge them to build this model for themselves- or more importantly, try to move and rearrange this model once built- and then see if they have the audacity to suggest incompetence on my part.
Date published: 2022-01-03

Rated 5 out of 5 by Jdrainville from Be careful This is easily the most intense kit build I've done. A great combination of technic and classic build Lego providing many hours of build fun.
Date published: 2022-01-02

Rated 5 out of 5 by EmperorLovelyChicken from Expensive, but worth the money The UCS AT-AT has largely been a pleasure to build; there are a few awkward matings between large subsections, and there were some strange choices made regarding mating two subsections, and then having to extensively work on the large, newly-combined result, but none of these have detracted from the overall experience. While building four legs is a bit repetitive, the clever gear system make them, along with the neck, the highlights of the build; my wife was amused by the number of times I said "that's clever" while building these.
Date published: 2022-01-02

Rated 5 out of 5 by JuniorKnowledgeableStick from Love this set I've been waiting a long time for a large scale AT-AT and was thrilled when it was announced. I was able to snag one on release day and couldn't wait to put it together. I love the assortment of mini figs and accessories like the speeder bike which make for a great overall display. It is very solid once build which is impressive considering its size and weight. It is a little pricy but was well worth the money in my opinion.
Date published: 2022-01-02

Rated 5 out of 5 by ChiefGrumpySkeletron from Great Build A great addition to my growing collection.
