LEGO Minecraft The Deep Dark Battle (21246) takes players aged 8 and up on an adventure filled with all the game's classic elements: exploration, excavation and explosions. Minecraft missions in the Deep Dark biome Kids take Minecraft heroes the Arbalest knight and the Netherite knight on an action-packed adventure through one of the game's most challenging locations. Equipped with armor and weapons, they explore an ancient city and mine precious resources. Activated by turning a knob, a brick-built warden rises from beneath the deepslate stone to stop them. As battle ensues, players flick a switch to trigger a big explosion. Among the ruins is a chest containing precious items: a bone, a healing potion and 2 snowballs. For added digital fun, the LEGO Builder app features intuitive zoom and rotate tools that let kids visualize their model as they build.

A bonus for this set is all the skulk, especially the shriekers. The towers fall over if you try to move the set, but that should not be a problem if you keep it on a shelf.</span>

<span itemprop="description">Deep, dark battle. I loved the intricately crafted figures and equipment, which provided an accurate representation of the sinister veins. The inclusion of a skull catalyst at the center of the nation is a brilliant touch, symbolizing that the battle must have taken place nearby. The rising effect is very well executed, and the explosion adds a joyful dynamic to the scene.
Perhaps adding some additional power elements could enhance the overall interest in the set. This creates a scenario where the two factions are compelled to explore the unfolding events. I am thoroughly delighted with the set nonetheless.

The only complaint that I have is the warden often falls of the platform it stands on when it arises from the backside of the set. Overall this set is amazing and in my opinion is the best LEGO MINECRAFT set I've ever built!!</span>

<span itemprop="description">...okay, now that that's out of the way, let's get to reviewing this. (C'mon, LEGO, you kind of brought that on yourselves by mentioning one of the minifigures is a dwarf. *Someone* was going to reference the classic Yogscast song. ;)) This is an exceptional LEGO recreation of part of the Ancient City, giving us a full-scale recreation of the top of the Barracks and a miniaturized Entrance column that is absolutely fun to make collapse. Probably my favorite part of this set is the fact that we finally have hoes, and this one is enchanted, no less, probably with Silk Touch to bring the various Skulk blocks home. You get two each of the Sensors, Shriekers, and Catalysts, and while I'm not the biggest fan of Dots-style building, it's fun nevertheless and recreates the Skulk Veins well.
The only major con I have found is that the Warden has a hard time staying on his platform if you raise it too fast. I recommend keeping it to the in-game summon speed for optimal results.
Also, LEGO, what *is* that 3-long pin piece with stop? Now I'm going to have an even harder time differentiating my LEGO from my pen pieces! (Although it wouldn't surprise me if that piece has existed for a while on the inside of LEGO pens. I wouldn't know, though; never could get mine open.)
Overall, this is a great set that recreates Minecraft's official taking-off-the-gloves reveal as a kid-friendly horror game that isn't too hard on the bank. I definitely would recommend this to parents, though maybe not ones of young and/or sensitive children.</span>

Every other set exceeds or comes close to having a great value for price but this set falls significantly low in overall piece count and in mini figure count. <span itemprop="description">This build is straight from the Minecraft game, more so from update 1.19 last June. The set is a build of the ancient city with the main feature of the Warden and a cool exploding tower structure. My son really enjoyed building this set but he did have an issue with trying to attach the Warden on the 2 stud plate, it either keeps falling off or fails to attach. A quick fix was to replace this with a 8 stud flat piece which done the trick, now the Warden can move up using the lever without toppling off. Overall, a cool set and if you're into Minecraft then this set will be well appreciated.</span>

This was perfect for him he is 7 and he loves building them with his dad. It came with instructions and it was easy to follow and put together. Lots of bold colors which is awesome. It is super fun and interactive for a child to play with and even adults. Overal I would buy again based on the level of easiness and level of fun my kid had.</span>
