<span itemprop="description">The greatest disappointment of this much anticipated set, is the scale. It sits somewhere between Winter Village and the modulars. I found this set extremely difficult to set in my layout. It looks so out of place, it's parts are now in the "free build bag". I am quite disappointed in this.
While I understand the need for the larger scale, it's not conducive to a WV or Modular layout.
Sorry TLG, y'all missed the mark on this one.</span>

<span itemprop="description">As a collector of Star Wars Lego I was a bit unsure about buying this set originally. But the build looked too good to turn down and I’ve never had an ideas set before so I thought I’d start with this. And I’m so glad I did! The build was really entertaining and enjoyable throughout with each section being very different to the next and the end product is incredible. I think for a set aimed at being more of a display model it has such great play value with all the interior details and it looks amazing on a shelf/table. I don’t normally write reviews but this set deserves one. Would 100% recommend and really hope to see more medieval/castle sets from Lego in the future!</span>

<span itemprop="description">If you're thinking about buying this set, (and have some building experience under your belt) DO IT. I've been playing and building with Lego since childhood and I don't think I've had this much fun since my very first set!! This build is packed with details, accessories, and story, and is just a beautiful piece in general. You can tell that the forge was designed by someone with a passion for blacksmithing and is extremely charming.
Personally I gravitate towards architecturally focused builds and was pleasantly surprised that the finished product turned out bigger than I was expecting! All told this took me about three days to build, and I loved every step, the instructions are great as usual but are geared more toward the experienced builder (note the suggested 18+, but teens in general would have no problem with it). It's a great size for play, and I may use this as a set for future tabletop games.
I almost never write reviews for products, but this set takes the Lego cake. I would highly recommend this set for any true Lego fan!!!</span>

<span itemprop="description">J'ai mis un temps fou à m'y mettre mais je ne regrette pas ! C'est l'un des meilleurs sets Lego que j'ai pu faire jusqu'à présent, pour plusieurs raisons :
La première, la construction est très bien découpée et chaque étape ne prend pas plus de 30 minutes. On peut donc facilement monter son set petit à petit sans y passer un temps fou.
La construction n'est pas monotone, contrairement aux sets creator expert (que j'adore), il n'y a que très peu d'étapes redondantes et la construction est vraiment un plaisir.
Enfin, le rendu est magnifique. Ça fourmille de détails, les personnages sont cools et on a même droit à un peu de lumière grâce à une brique équipée d'une petite LED.
Bref, ne passez pas à côté de ce set !</span>

<span itemprop="description">I don't have a lot of money so I don't buy large Lego sets almost ever. However, the nostalgia of old castle stuff made me buy 'The Blacksmith' immediately without a second thought when it came out. This set is fun to build and has lots of awesome details including the bear-skin rug and the light up smithy! The blue roof is just so charming too. This set looks really good next to my only other large set 'Barracuda Bay' because they are generally of a similar height and depth, the colours compliment each other, and the shape of them surprisingly interlocks in a way that reduces the space they take up on a shelf (the tree of the blacksmith tucks behind the right side of the pirate bay where the little stone statue is).</span>

<span itemprop="description">I built this with my 3.5 year old. He put most of it together with me directing. We both very much enjoyed the build.
The extra details are fantastic and add lots more playability.
My one major gripe is all of the plastic bags to hold the components. Surely paper bags would be more sustainable? Even if you had to use small transparent windows so people could see the parts inside.
Of the build itself I can't say I really like the missing tiles in the roof, or that one side of the well has a decent roof. Very minor gripes though.
Can't wait for some more medieval builds, a tavern would be amazing!

<span itemprop="description">This is the biggest set that I have bought and I am so glad that I did. this set looks amazing from all angles, the build was really good, with some really interesting methods like the tree and the bearskin rug.
The house looks so nice and has some well designed details like the bed, the chairs and just the entire forge. As a fan of D&D and fantasy, this set really appeals to me. The minifigures are great too, especially the black falcon knights, which have stellar designs.
I'm so glad I bought this set and I'm mainly writing this review in the hopes that enough people show support for the set so that LEGO consider making more original medieval sets like this.</span>

The box itself was pristine, with a sleek design. The instructions were the same, and were easy to follow too. The bricks came in pristine condition (as is to be expected).
The finished build is, to put it simply, beautiful! It is bustling with life from every angle; every nook and cranny seems to have a detail or a quirk that makes the set better on the whole.

<span itemprop="description">I love the Castle system from back in my childhood. Additionally I love knights, fantasy (ie. hobbit/lotr), dragons and castles. When I saw this was coming out, I pre-ordered without hesitation. Now that I have it built and can see the level of detail comparable to the Castle system from the 80s and even the more recent one in 2010s, I wish more like the Blacksmith shop would come out. Something similar to the module city shops and stores. I would spare no expense to collect any of the midieval sets that would expand upon what the blacksmith shop started.</span>

<span itemprop="description">This is a wonderful build. It really fits well with my other castle sets while also updating the complexity and build techniques for the more experienced builder. I cannot recommend this enough for anybody interested in castle, and it might also be worth it for somebody generally interested in a nice detailed build. Engaging build, beautiful display piece, and conducive to play.</span>

<span itemprop="description">This set reminds me so much of the Lego castle sets I loved as a kid. It was also a highly satisfying build experience -- I was continuously impressed with not only the design ingenuity but also the level of detail in every part of the set. The only downside, if you can call it that, is that it was difficult for me to consistently tell the different shades of green apart from each other in the printed instructions. But I don't consider that a serious problem. All in all, this is a classic, brick-built Lego creation that is equally perfect as a playset or as a display piece. Building it inspired me to start designing a large Lego castle MOC that I'm now sourcing parts for. Build experience...playset ability....display piece....inspires creativity in the person building it....yeah, this is about as close to the perfect Lego set as you can get.</span>

<span itemprop="description">The set overall is great, plenty of little details, and a lot of play possibilities. However, I have had multiple brown pieces simply shatter on me during building. I was not forcing them or stressing them in any way. Only happened to that one color.</span>

<span itemprop="description">For me Lego is about Castle and trains.
My kids would add superheroes into that.
This is a beautiful set. Not only great for display but my kids love playing with it.
Each level lifts off very easily and this makes play very easy. It also means it can be incorporated into a scene without the need to open it like a book. This is marvellous and I will use this on my MOC buildings.
I don’t have black falcon knights so I was disappointed in that, I would have preferred lion knights. However, the minifigs are excellent.
I didn’t get the moss on the roof, or the missing tiles, when the rest of the building looks well maintained. Moss on thatch would make sense, so I took those pieces off and replaced with tiles. I think it looks better.
This is a marvellous set. Now we just need more knights....</span>
