Yes the same keys move for every song, but then it would take a mad level of engineering to do anymore. As others have said the keys can get stuck when playing automatically, but a quick reset and replay usually fixes. I dont have any major issues with the key alignment, but as they are basically freestanding in the build they will always have a little bit of wiggle room. I've been building Lego sets for about 7 years now and this was one of the more challenging and awesome builds. I screwed up a few times where multiple steps on a page and had to back track a few times as I turned a piece the wrong way (darn!). I was able to resolve the sticking keys by loosening the &quot;washers&quot; at the end of the key mechanisms. I can't seem to get my keys to all lie flat as they but up against the rotating mechanism and since it's uneven (intentionally), the keys are as well. It's not too bad. Some suggestions I would like to make are (1) add a hinge to the seat with a place inside to put the sheet music; (2) make it so the battery pack turns off after 10 minutes if no activity (wasting a lot of batteries as you forget to turn it off!); and (3) change the requirement of 6 AA batteries to 1 9 volt battery (would be much cheaper and easier to find 1 vs 6 as replacements). Hope this doesn't sound like I didn't like this one as I really did. It looks amazing on my display shelf. The fact that you can &quot;play&quot; it is also very cool indeed. I'm very impressed by these developers as I know I could never do something so intricate. The attention to detail is amazing. The seat being functional was cool. The pedal working, the different ways the lid can open and close, the intricate detail to mimic the strings inside a piano, all of it was amazing and in particular I really, really like how this build is smooth looking. It is not like a Technic build where you see the 'bones'. No, this looks like quality item once done. That said, I did notice three things that are a little disappointing. 1. The side of the piano where the batteries go does not fully close and there's a gap. Minor pet peeve, but I understand why this choice was made. 2. The piano does not play music from the piano. This is a known issue that many have stated in prior reviews and I see what they mean. I might add a raspberry pi with a speaker into it, but this just seems like a missed opportunity from LEGO. 3. The keys, while phenomenal, play the same pattern regardless of song selected. Again, I understand why this decision was made, but it would have been cool if the piano keys actually changed patterns based on the song. Aside from those three points, I love this build and it honestly has me exploring other larger builds. However, I feel that the age rating is quite misleading, as an 18+ build implies quite a high level of intricacies and of difficulty, which was not the case. I wasn&rsquo;t necessarily trying to work quickly (in fact, I was trying to go slowly) yet this build was complete after only working on it for two nights. This was somewhat disappointing, as the piano is quite expensive and one would expect it to be more difficult and for it to take a long time to complete. My only other complaint is that when looking more closely at the piano keys in detail, they don&rsquo;t form a perfectly straight line as they aren&rsquo;t lined up very precisely. This, however, is a much smaller gripe, as it could also be attributed to builder error. That being said, I deducted a star because of the app. The sheet music displayed for each song isn't accurate, but the notes are highlighted as the song progresses as if the sheet music were representative of the song being played. This was really disappointing, as my expectation is that the sheet music (in the app) would actually match the song. The printed Lego tile of sheet music that came with the set appears to be accurate, but the app isn't. Lego should have invested a bit more developing the accompanying app, to make this toy more educational/realistic. I waited until release date and somehow was lucky enough to score one. As an avid piano player since I was 4ish, this set blew my mind. The details on this were INCREDIBLE. It brought me back to being a kid as I eagerly tried to learn the mechanics of the instrument. I would crawl under, over, around and through to see how it worked - from the keys hammering the strings, the pedals, the way the top would open/close, the sliding/collapsing of the sheet music holder/stand... The details of this set were stunning, right down to the red velvet (well, plastic..) of the hammers over the strings. This brought me so much joy to build, the memories this conjured up were priceless. It was such a pleasure to build, and looks amazing on display. I must admit, I cried a little when I was finally done assembling and powered up the Lego app to make it 'play.' This is easily my favorite set - I am so glad I spent the money. I must admit I was on the fence because of the cost, but knew it would be worth it in the end - and it was, a million times over. Sound is played via your smartphone or tablet&rsquo;s speakers when using the Lego app paired to the piano. No smartphone/tablet, no sound. 2) The KEYS DO NOT PLAY IN SYNC TO NOTES ON THE SHEET MUSIC. There is just the same random movement no matter which song you are playing. The KEYS DO NOT CORRESPOND TO THE NOTES. 3) When playing the piano, ANY KEY PRODUCES THE SAME NOTE SOUND REQUIRED IN THE SONG. A preloaded song appears for you to &ldquo;play,&rdquo; and as you hit any note on the piano, the song progresses. YOU DON&rsquo;T REALLY PLAY A PIANO. While it was neat to build, it was an absolute disappointment that it didn&rsquo;t live up to the hype Lego made about it. Shame on you, Lego. Never have I ever felt deceived by you all like this. It is a fun build (not hard at all, but still kept my interest) and the result looks really beautiful. In my opinion the &ldquo;playability&rdquo; of the piano is well implemented given the real world constraints of doing so. To make it fully functional as a piano would have added significant costs and technical challenges that would not have been realistic to expect Lego to undertake, such as separate sensors for each key, custom electronics for the keyboard and would have likely made the overall kit very much larger in size. The critics on this point just do not appreciate these things and that the kit would have cost much much more. I don&rsquo;t think that is what was intended anyway. After all, ultimately it is just a representation of a grand piano, not the real thing. If you want a real piano, then go out and buy one, not this kit. The finished product is first class as a display piece. Making it play is a fun novelty that our family and friends will no doubt enjoy. Lovely details and building the keys didn&rsquo;t seem as repetitive as originally predicted. Owning a Baby Grand we were able to see many similarities with details found inside. Has anyone thought of a white limited edition model - possibly with a candelabra?
