<span itemprop="description">Got this set as a decoration for my youngest son's first birthday party (he loves the Sesame St. puppets). Great build, tons of color and clever pieces, Easter eggs & accessories were a lot of fun.
During/after the party, the set was basically taken over by my older son. At 3.5 years, he loves to watch Sesame St. as well, knows the characters, etc. Playability of this set has been huge for him; he'll spend literally hours at the table playing with it. However, it's a lot of small pieces for a little kid to handle. He definitely seems like the target audience, but drops/loses pieces constantly because there's a LOT going on in this set. I guess that's my only beef with this set, is I'm not sure who the target really is. But we'll keep playing and picking up pieces, because it really is a lot of fun!</span>

Big Bird is one of the most intricate and detailed mini figure i have ever seen - the body piece and wings are awesome, but on the opposite hand Oscar is one of the most underwhelming and Elmo and cookie monster are quite simple. All the others are fantastic. A few to many stickers to apply, but all in all this set is a keeper. Get it before it is gone!</span>

<span itemprop="description">First big Lego purchase for myself! I love the show and I grew up watching Sesame Street, so I got this for nostalgia and fun. The attention to detail is amazing, and I love the hidden easter eggs within the set (Guy Smiley on TV, the clock in Bert and Ernies room, etc) and some modern references (Cookie and Gonger's food truck picture, Abby's flower garden). The only complaint would be that Hoppers store wasn't bigger as the counter could have been added and more details added (this really isn't a complaint, I just want more of the set). I wasn't missing any pieces either. This set made me feel like I finally got to Sesame Street.</span>

<span itemprop="description">This is my 11th "adult build" and by far the most fun!! All the bright colors in the legos bring a smile to my face and the theme is beyond perfect!! There are a lot of stickers in this set so if stickers aren't your thing, you might want to pass this set by. However, all the stickers make this set so perfect as a recreation of 123 Sesame Street. It has been brought up that the black background of the instruction book makes it harder to identify the individual Lego and that's true. But a quick check using the flashlight app on my phone clears up any questions. It's a quick, simple fix. This time of coronavirus has been trying for us all. The bright, happy colors and the message of Sesame Street of love and understanding makes it a perfect time for this build to bring us a bit of unexpected happiness and puts in perspective what really matters. Thank you Ivan, Ollie and Crystal for this gem of a set!!</span>

<span itemprop="description">I am a huge Jim Henson and Sesame Street fan. Thank you to the Lego ideas designer for submitting this fantastic set.
However, I did not appreciate the asymmetrical front of the iconic brownstone and the open side design of Hooper's store - so for the first time in my 35 years of building LEGO I redesigned the set. I adjusted so the 3 windows were in the front and the open side of Cookie's apartment was not showing. Elmo's room needed a wall to provide privacy so I added that. These changes allows for better display and if putting it in your modular city it just works better.
Overall - the easter eggs, the minifigs, and the overall play features are great! Brings back such fond memories of childhood. Thank you LEGO!</span>

This set was so fun to build, and all of the little details delighted me. I actually squealed a couple of times! The set is a stunner.
My only complaint is that their are no girl minifigs. My daughter was really disappointed there were no girl characters to play with - Lego sets are usually so well balanced.
Maybe there could be a minifig expansion with Abby, Prairie Dawn, Rosita? (and Grover and the Count would be nice too)</span>

The level of detail is amazing and I shook my head at each new surprise that came my way during the build. As others have said, the instructions were slightly problematic - the black pages made some pieces difficult to see, and some of the pieces were colored differently from how they actually appear. Other than that, well done Lego.</span>

<span itemprop="description">I love the muppets so had to get this set with Bert and Ernie. Love the use of colour and although there are a lot of stickers there are also a lot of detailed pieces in this set. I would have given it 5 stars if the instruction booklet had been up to standard. This is the first set I have ever had problems with.
Firstly the black pages made it almost impossible to see what pieces were needed when they were dark brown - it is actually clearer in the attached photo than with the naked eye. Then there was a section where the instructions missed a step. On one page there was a big hole and in the next step there was suddenly a large plate in that hole, but no mention of installing it anywhere. Lastly, when assembling some of the parts, the illustration would suddenly be from a different angle, without the usual arrows. The angles also made it very difficult to tell which way to put some of the blocks and I had to dismantle things a couple of times when I got to a point and realised I’d chosen the wrong way. Usually the instructions are really specific to ensure you have the pieces pointing the right way, but several times it was down to guesswork. A lovely set overall, but the manually needed to go through a few more checks before release.</span>

<span itemprop="description">Everything about this induces joy! The quality and details are astounding and the set is purely amazing. Sadly, the only defect is that Grover is missing. For those of us who grew up with the original Sesame Street, to not have a Grover character is a disappointment. I realize Elmo is the face of Sesame Street for many years now, but I imagine this set is purchased more by those for whom Sesame Street is nostalgic—so Grover should have been included. LEGO should create a Grover character that can be purchased to go along with the set. Aside from the missing Grover, this set is absolutely beautiful and the cutest thing I’ve seen for years.</span>

<span itemprop="description">This is such a great product. I was a little unsure whether to purchase this set for my little boy aged 7 years as it was down as 18+, however he loved it and built the majority by himself, it took him about a day and a half. He loves playing with it. Therefore, I would definitely recommend this product for a child aged 7 years or over and for adults too! I have attached some photos that lego may wish to use.</span>

<span itemprop="description">OH MY G*D! THIS SET IS LITERALLY MY CHILDHOOD. I MYSELF GREW UP WATCHING SEASAME STREET AND HAVING THIS ON MY DESK IS MINDBLOWING. The attention to detail on this set is amazing. I would've bought this set even if it were 200 dollars because this set is just worth it. The set itself is amazingly detailed from little things like Elmo's room to Bernie and Barts.
I have to say though that I'm very disappointed that some of the Minifigure legs are immovable but it makes sense because that way some are taller. Cookie Monster is absolutely beautiful I would've preferred to have his cookies be more than stud.</span>

<span itemprop="description">I assisted my two older boys in building this wonderfully detailed set. I especially love that this is an homage to the older version of the show. The details like printed VHS tapes sure made a conversation piece with the boys.
We enjoyed building.</span>

<span itemprop="name">The amount of detail is astounding</span>
<span itemprop="description">If you're a sesame street fan, it's a no brainer. The minifigs alone may be worth half the price of admission. It's not cheap (friends cafe is about same amount of pieces and half the price) but the amount of detail they packed in to around 1000 pieces makes mos eisley cantina feel more like duplo by comparison.
Even if you're not a sesame street fan, it's a fun and challenging build and personally I think provides better value than some of the other city/town designs
One complaint though - where's the count?! you included everyone else in there.</span>

<span itemprop="description">First the bad:
Why would Lego decide to print the instruction book on black background paper? The booklet was not the easiest to read especially in low light. Next, I was really hoping for a bigger set (similar to the Ghostbusters HQ) as that is what the original Ideas set looked like. And they could have easily included Slimey the worm!
Now the good.
Lego did a fantastic job on the characters. The size, the colors - all of them were done perfectly!!!! I also like the corner design to include Mr. Hooper's store - that was a nice touch.
All in all, a fun build and a great value on a great set but it did leave me wanting a little bit more like the one on the Ideas site! I hope more characters are released in the future (The Count and Snuffy!!!)</span>

<span itemprop="name">Love the idea, but execution is lacking</span>
<span itemprop="description">For anyone who grew up on Sesame Street, it’s hard not to love the idea of this set. And it does have many cool features, I couldn’t not get it. I also realize no matter what they did, they couldn’t make everyone happy.
That said, the build is poorly designed in terms of stability. The gray plates that fit together for the foundation do not want to stay together. It took standing up and applying significant pressure to get them to stop popping apart.
This is because the set relies solely on pieces underneath to hold them all together. There are many places where pieces on top could have connected across the plates and made it much sturdier. Very unlike LEGO. I ranked the build as challenging solely based on this factor.
I know they haven’t done this before for any Idea set, but I really hope they consider an add-on minifigure set. I’m sure it would sell.
In case Lego actually reads these...
My wish list includes more characters.
Where is Grover? Such a missed opportunity - they could have easily included a red cape and a helmet for a Super Grover transformation!
Or Rosita? Diversity would be nice!
Speaking of diversity - a big part of why Sesame Street was groundbreaking is that it featured an integrated city neighborhood. Something that is still rare. Redlining is no longer legal, but it’s impact is still with us.
I realize they had to include Elmo. But a whole floor dedicated to him? That seems like overkill. I would have loved to see Gordon & Susan’s apartment instead. They do live in the main building.</span>
