It was my 1st build since I was a child. I saw this mustang and had to have it. I was amazed by the leaps Lego has made. The mechanics and functionality are top notch. I would have rated 5 stars but at the end of the build I was looking forward to attaching the rear spoiler. The front of the spoiler is absolutely amazing except for not continuing the stripe. But that doesn&rsquo;t bother me too bad. Now comes the one thing that is bad. The back side of the spoiler is terrible. All you see is the bottom of Lego parts and 2 buttons. I can&rsquo;t believe they went out of the way to make the whole car so great and not manufacture smooth back pieces for the back side of the spoiler. It looks absolutely terrible, like I forgot to finish it or I lost some pieces. I am highly disappointed in this. Minor things that annoy me are the center pegs for the front wheels Are brown. The back ones are dark gray. My mind is boggled how so much attention to detail was made on this car and they produced those in different colors. I&rsquo;m going to make decal center caps to cover the pegs. My Other Minor complaints are pretty much more aesthetics. The bottom of interior carpet area should be tan, not gray, and the back seat bottom should have been two tone tuck &amp; roll dark tan &amp; light tan style like front seats. The steering should be tan as well. The front blinker lights should be transparent orange or clear optional, not just clear. Luckily I have some transparent orange circles from another kit. I left the rectangle side mirrors off so they would be round like old mustangs. I guess I am comparing it to the original classic mustang I used to own. I have ideas to make this the way I want it, and hope I can order the parts to make that happen, but I don&rsquo;t think there&rsquo;s anything I can do about the spoiler back except take it off and toss it in my extra parts bag, and that sucks because the spoiler is super critical to the mean aggressive optional look. By the way, I do love all the extras, it&rsquo;s nice to be able to change the way the car looks!!! I had a couple of missing &amp; wrong parts. Nothing major. Will contact customer service and I&rsquo;m sure they&rsquo;ll fix it. I love all the fancy upgrades you can add to your Mustang like side exhaust pipes, a spoiler at the back, the big engine up front, the air dam and all the license plates for Michigan, California, Australia, UK and Germany! This set was pretty hard but the set comes with a brick separator and there are red 1 by 1 studs when you are building to remain focused. As you can tell from my title this set has working steering which is one of the first things you build, I have so much fun driving it across the kitchen floor even though this is supposed to be displayed. Aside from the steering there are a lot of things to open including the trunk, hood, roof and doors. The interior is superb as well with a FM radio, gearshift and leather seats. There are a few prints on the set however the prints on the door don't line up but from a distance looked okay. The racing stripes that run from front to back are prints too, and from the reviews I read they made a big deal of how they were segmented, so I was scared to see them in real life but they aren't that bad, sure they're cut off a bit at the end but it's fine. One thing that is annoying is the side mirrors. you have to constantly adjust them over and over so this set takes a lot of patience. Another thing that bugs me is that there are gaps between the backside and trunk lid which ruins the effect of a real car. But aside from those things I think personally that this is the best Creator Expert car LEGO has released, but don't take that to heart because this is also the only Creator Expert car I have so yeah! I&rsquo;ve built elite sets before in the theme of famous places/buildings such as the Statue of Liberty, Empire State Building, etc, but this Mustang just gave me a new view. I&rsquo;ve recently just been browsing the store and my eye was caught on this famous car and it&rsquo;s iconic double stripes. The colors go perfectly and it looked awesome. I purchased it almost instantly and got to work. I had 1 missing piece, but it was no problem because I had a replacement in a big box of parts. All the reviews of scratched parts didn&rsquo;t come true to me, so I&rsquo;m even more pumped about the set. I finished it up with a minor set of challenges, but the end product was worth it. I played around carefully and afterwards put it up on my cabinet where all my other LEGO&rsquo;s stay. It stick out like a sore thumb making the other LEGO&rsquo;s measly competition. All in all, sooo worth it. I now have a whole new view on LEGO cars, and might even start a collection. I love muscle cars and had to have it when I saw one of my favorite cars and in my favorite color. I thought it was priced right but it did live up to the expert level it states on the box but it is well worth the build time when you are done. I left mine stock but I did have a few moments where I was stumped. I didn't have any scratch or gap issues with mine but I was missing two Lego pieces. I did order them and Lego was very nice on the phone to deal with and I had my pieces, no questions asked, in less than a week so I could complete my set. I have many Star Wars sets I have put together and can't believe I am saying this, but the Mustang is my favorite. The designers knocked this one out of the park. I went with the standard old mustang look and not the hot rod. I did have some issues with some of the parts. the windshield was scratched up because it arrives mixed in with other parts. Wish they would put it in a tiny bag to help protect it. and one the the side pieces that has the white painted on it, had a flaw. Lego was amazing and sent replacement parts to me. and I finished the car. The nice thing about the car is it can be put anywhere due to its size. when finished it looks roughly the same size as a normal dye cast model car. It took me a while the get round to it, and to be honest, I wish I'd built it sooner. It took me longer to build because I enjoyed it, and wanted to savour every moment. The detailed engine bay, the optional extras, and the working steering really set this model above all of the other Lego Expert sets of the last couple of years. There is so much attention to detail in this set that it blows my mind. With working doors, hood, trunk and even the seats shift forward to allow passengers to get in the back! My only complaints would be the dash needs the same attention to detail as the other areas and the white lines down the sides don't line up consistently. As it came together I was really impressed with the detail and looks of the car. However as reported in other reviews then came the time to add the printed bricks to each side and the bonnet. Unfortunately no matter how much I tried moving them around some of them just didn&rsquo;t line up correctly or weren&rsquo;t printed straight. It a shame as other than this the mustang is a great piece by lego and looks fantastic but with this issue it puts a downer on the final look of the car.
