The colors are beautiful and it&rsquo;s such a great derivation of the real Mona Lisa! I love the packaging very no fuss and easy to understand and durable too. For younger ages, I would recommend an adult present due to small pieces that may be a hazard but overall very fun and can&rsquo;t wait to try another lego set! Easy to follow instructions and fun to build. However, when it came to fitting one of the last pieces it wouldn't engage. It is the wedge shaped piece to the left of the mouth. I tried for ages but it kept falling off, I tried putting a smaller piece in the gap underneath but that didn't work. Finally I gave up and the piece is now held in place by sticky tack. I am very disappointed as I have never had any problem with the many sets I have. I&rsquo;m a big fan of the Lego art theme and decided to finally give this a try. It was a pleasant surprise! The gold frame is the standout for me, those gold pieces really set it off. The likeness of Mona Lisa is good enough given the limitations of Lego. Very satisfying at the end to put the piece in the frame and secure it with pins. Although the idea of the set was cool and I went to look at it in the store, it wasn't until my wife suggested that I buy it for myself that I planned on doing so. My kids have had some pretty large sets coming with multiple books and several days working at the dining room table, putting them together, such as the full size millennium falcon or Boba Fett's Slave II, etc. (Of course I wasn't shorted a single piece due to Legos thorough quality, assurance processes, so it was smooth building.) I told myself to go slowly to enjoy it, but really just wanted it done so I could see how it looked. With a one hour break for dinner, I had sat at the table on Saturday for about seven hours putting it together -what childhood joy. This lego has been the worst experience by far with building. It will not stay together at all the whole time I&rsquo;ve been building it. The sides keep coming apart non stop and the back pieces keep falling off over and over again. They will not stay on and I spent a total of 15 minutes trying to get a single piece off. The Lego seems to be a bad design as nothing stays together or I just got a bad set. Either way it has been a super frustrating experience and has made me lose interest in buying Lego's in the future. Have not enjoyed building this piece at all. I've been building Lego for about two years, and this is the fourth set I've done that has a higher level of difficulty. When there is an area of dark colored bricks, I have difficulty distinguishing the various bricks depicted in instructions. It would be fabulous if Lego would show outlines of bricks. As a result, it took me three tries to get the right side of Mona's hair and cape correct. Otherwise, the build went well. I was planning to hang this in my work office, but I like it so much, I'm keeping it at home. The detail is impressive - I see much more in the Lego version than I've seen in photos of the original.
