Its a perfect square thats easy to add to your home decorand makes an excellent display piece. It is not only a pretty tedious build with the hundreds of tile pieces that are very hard to get straight on top of the repetitiveness in the steps. It seems to have some detailed parts that are completely hidden and seem unnecessary - it feels like it is just jacking up the pieces and the price. I would much have rather it been small and include the courtyard of the Taj Mahal, much like the Trafalgar Square build. The picture on the box has something a little strange to me. I doubt this was done on purpose, but if anybody happens to know this was intentional and if so, why?, I&rsquo;d love to know. So basically the white pieces lining the bottom (I circled them in the picture) have the LEGO logo on one side and a random dot on the other side. The pieces are placed vertically in a way that the logo is always at the top. However, one of the pieces on the corner has the logo at the bottom with the dot on top. It may not be the actual cross shape but it is made to look like a cross from any angle. The designer who paid attention to so many details of the structure could not figure out the difference between a crescent moon and a cross? Or is Lego not capable of designing a simple crescent shape despite being able to create so many custom pieces for this set? Would this modern set aimed at adults provide the same sense of anticipation and excitement? Absolutely! The smart instruction manual wouldn't look out of place on a coffee table and led my son and I through the build step by step. A tool is even included to separate blocks these days. The model is one foot square so doesn't take up too much space and construction was good fun with various Lego styles used to form the domes and towers. The finished model has a removable roof to access the detailed inside. There&rsquo;s plenty of repetition in this build, to ensure the symmetry of this beautiful building is accurate. It can be quite challenging, I needed to take lots of breaks which added to the build time. The details in each piece really are incredible. I would love to see more buildings in the architecture range. I&rsquo;d love to collect them all. I don&rsquo;t know if this part is based on the real Taj Mahal, but I enjoyed the bright orange, blue and green interior pieces. They kept the build from getting monotonous in some ways. The base of this set is much sturdier than any of my other architecture sets. The time it took wasn&rsquo;t too bad for the piece count. Each of the ten bags probably took me 30-45 minutes, and I&rsquo;m not very quick. You would think that any and all legos are safe for your average thirteen-or-so year old, but I can see where Lego was coming from with the age rating. There are lots of small, pointed pieces. I scraped myself a time or two, but nothing that broke skin. I wouldn&rsquo;t have cared if I had broken skin though, because it would have been worth it!
