<span itemprop="description">When I saw the World Map’s box I noticed the custom ocean image, where they added an octopus and thought, ok this will be fun. I can do the countries as is and then build out the oceans to be something really fun. Little did I know when I hit order that the custom oceans really are custom. Lego does NOT have instructions for the alternate layout on their site. After a day of searching for other custom ocean versions, I found one I really liked.
The only problem, there weren’t actually instructions for this either, and I could only find one image of it. So I did what seemed the most reasonable, got my laptop out and zoomed in, and just pieced it together as closely as I could. I kept the main features of the bottom 3/4’s as close to the same as the inspiration photo; and then on the final morning when I was working on the top portion I just started googling Pixel Art: Ocean, Sea Animals, Starfish, etc.
I started the build on a Wednesday night and got the first 4 panels with countries only completed; then completed the remaining panels on Thursday night. Took Friday off; and then spent a chunk of Saturday, and a few hours Sunday morning doing the custom oceans. It probably took about 15 hours all in to build and I am loving the results.</span>

<span itemprop="description">I received this set as a gift and was beyond excited when I opened it. I just finished completing it and had a great time putting it together. Despite it being a bit tedious, I really had fun with it. Unfortunately, hanging it up has been a nightmare. I have been looking forward to hanging this piece since I received it, but unfortunately I don't think I am going to be able to display it. Overall, the piece is pretty flimsy and buckles under pressure. I do not have experience with hanging legos, and as such I was completely unable to hang this with the limited supplies and instructions given. I tried very hard, since I really wanted to hang this up, but now I'm just not really sure what to do with it.</span>

<span itemprop="description">The largest Lego set (hoping to be that way for a while) ever! My daughter absolutely loved it! It did come with challenges due to sheer size. The frames must have broken at least a dozen time while building. But at the end it became one of the beloved wall piece in our home. The only regret is that my daughter paused Millennium Falcom build as soon as she got this one. I hope she will got back to that soon. That is albeit a small set by brick count but a lot more complex for a 12 year old.</span>

<span itemprop="description">Just finished Titanic and I needed something else to do. I found the World Map in the Lego store a few months back. It was discounted because the box was creased. I didn’t care as all of the pieces were still included.
My 4-year old helped me put this one together and we did it over the Memorial Day Holiday weekend. My only complaint is my thumbs started to hurt a bit as I was snapping the little colorful pieces on the black plates. Otherwise, this is nice and it’s hanging in our home. I saw other people making dolphins and other really cool things with the oceans, but I’m not that creative! Lol! Another great set.</span>

<span itemprop="description">Very stunning and absolutely beautiful to look at! Very long (great value for the money) build, but you can easily build in sections by tile or just keep a bookmark in the instruction book to keep your place. Pieces and tiles went together very well with no “engineering hiccups,” as I usually find in Lego sets.
It was easy to hang. I hung on two nails, one was already in the wall, and I just measured with a ruler to the second hanger to hang. Hangers also can be repositioned if you need to fit another arrangement.
Wasn’t happy with the way the box was packed as one bag of the white studs was cut open and those pieces were loose all over the box. I still had more than enough of those plus extras of them and the colored tiles.
Well worth the time, effort and money!</span>

I built the continents first and then started adding the colour and images trying to use my imagination as I went along… in the end it actually looked so much better than I expected. <span itemprop="description">I bought this set for myself off of Amazon a few weeks ago now as a super early "this year sucked" gift to myself. Its a large build, but thankfully it's broken up into 40 panels you stud up and they're all connected to all adjacent panels with the little black technic pins. Its nice and simple and I honestly love this set, except...
Im missing exactly 100 of those pins from my set. The set is supposed to come with 205, and I received 105. I work 60 hour weeks, so I don't have much free time to myself to just sit down and build, so imagine my thoughts when I realized I had been shorted the literal parts needed to hold the entire set together after being almost 2/3 of the way through!
Ive kept my build space extremely organized, so I know I didn't misplace them, so it seriously sucks after all this time and the money I spent, all I have to show for it is a half-built pile of plastic. I immediately went to the customer support section to request missing parts, and they declined my request almost immediately.
I love this set, Ive enjoyed my time to just relax while I build, and I think it would look amazing in just about any room once its done... That is if I could finish it. 4/10.</span>

<span itemprop="description">I’ll preface by saying this is my first art set build, and it will almost certainly be my last.
I love Lego, literally build sets every nearly every month or two. For the most part I like all of the different lines, although sometimes I feel I struggle with the technic line since it diverges so far from classic bricks…but this.
This was pain. I never felt that putting together a Lego set was work. The result was certainly gorgeous, but each singular 1 x 1 circular tile or plate requires a ton of perseverance especially 11000 times. So maybe it’s your thing, but it surely was not mine. It really is a beautiful result but it will take you a while to get there - pick up the globe instead !</span>

<span itemprop="description">Flat black tiles were added to the facing surround of the map to give it some contrast to the light coloured wall it was mounted on. The black edged surround now makes the map stand out from the wall and also compliments the black shading around the continents on the map.</span>

<span itemprop="description">I bought this set in addition to the Globe that I assembled earlier in the year. I was not a fan of white continents, so I decided the colorize them and get creative with the oceans.
The price per piece ratio is really good, so lots of options exist if you want to change things around. Not going the white continents route and not coloring in the oceans saved a lot of pieces that I used for pixel art.
Overall, this was a fun build that allowed for me to be expressive in how things could go. Plus, you get extra pieces you can use in other art if you want to. Solid set.</span>

<span itemprop="description">Very disappointed to find out it won’t sit flat on the wall. White it was fun to build, each square is slightly bowed, and by the time it is put together, it bows over an inch in the middle. It is very noticeable when shining a light on the final build.</span>
