Had to issues to follow the instructions. Some of the kids next door who are 7 had trouble with it others did not. It's straightforward enough for our 6 year old to understand, but competitive enough for us, parents, to also enjoy it. We love that it doesn't take too long to play, a round lasts probably about 15-20 minutes. It's enough time to be fun and short enough to keep the little one's attention. I rated it 4 out of 5 only because I wish the tile cards were cardboard, instead of regular playing card material. It makes it a little difficult to flip over the cards without disrupting the rest of the grid. Other than that, it's a great buy, and toys r us had the best pricing in town.
