He then began to play them, specifically using them to kick his monster trucks. After about 1 week of play, he has lost the soccer ball and most of his interest in playing with them. So this ken doll was a win win. The uniform is realistic complete with cleats and ball. He has pretty typical movement for a ken doll. My son was intrigued by the soccer focus, making this a more attractive option for him over the traditional fashion Ken doll for general play. The included soccer ball was a nice addition, and an immediate game of doll sized soccer broke out on our coffee table with a variety of similar sized dolls. He particularly liked the cleats shoes on the doll over sneakers. An addition of another accessory (fold out net or maybe a small duffle style bag that would keep the ball with the doll more easily) would be a welcome addition to this toy. My daughter enjoyed it much more for regular play, while it had appeal for my son more as a play item when playing with my daughter. The clothes are super easy to get on and off. They have Velcro on the back and shoes have a slit on the back to help them slide on. The detail is amazing. The soccer ball is realistic and heavy. It is big enough to hopefully not be swallowed by a sibling. Ken even has realistic shin guards. My boys love having him kick the ball to play a pretend game. His leg swings easily. He appears to have great flexion with extremities. The plastic is also high quality. The soccer shoes are soft and have built-in pretend cleats, and the soccer shoes are translucent lime green. The socks are soft and easy to remove, and the tops of the socks have rubber elastic sewn to help the stocks stay in place. The shirt has a soft low profile hook and loop fasteners on the back. I tested to see if my cat's hair would adhere to the hook and loop fastener, and it did not. The shorts are simple and have elastic around the waist. The Ken doll is lightweight, and the head is soft and flexible. The head and arms rotate around. The soccer doll's torso does not rotate. He is a lovely doll for collection or an aspiring soccer fan/player.
