It is incredibly quick and easy to follow the well illustrated instructions to complete assembly. I appreciate that it has various set up options to add further interest and intrigue to this play set. The sound and light effects are interesting and fun, and declare a winner on the display to minimize arguments of which car actually won. A number is displayed and it&rsquo;s clear which car won! My only complaint was the track only comes with 2 cars, even though there are 5 lanes on the race track. It&rsquo;s an easy solutions&hellip; go buy more! Ha! Ha! But at this price point, providing a 3rd car would be a nice addition. My almost 7 year old has returned to play with this toy day after day! This is an amazing toy for kids of all ages and adults! Assembly was quick and easy. The decals are already in place. IMPORTANT &ndash; you need 6 -AAA batteries &ndash; these are not included. You will also need a good amount of space to set this up. There are two ways to set up the track. In the straight set up the track is 8 feet long. In the curved set up the track is 40 inches long and 45 inches across. In both configurations the track at its highest point is 27&rdquo; high. To begin you place the MarioKart Hot Wheels at the starting line at the top of the track. You need to use the MarioKart Hot Wheels because not all regular Hot Wheels are heavy enough to make it down the track. There are two vehicles included in the package &ndash; ours was Mario and King Boo. You can race up to 5 cars at a time. There are red and green lights and sounds that indicate the start of the race. When you&rsquo;re ready to start, push the &ldquo;mushroom head&rdquo; and the cars race down the colorful tracks. There are two options for racing - one is just a race and the other has obstacles that pop up such as banana peel, a turtle shell, etc. These obstacles stop the racer in that lane from finishing the race. The finish line displays the winning track number. Mario seems to win most often. My 5 year old grandson is having so much fun with this colorful track with lights and sounds! This is something he will play with for a long time. We have almost all of the other Mario Kart Hot Wheels sets and he says that this one is his favorite. It has lights and sounds and comes with two cars. It only took about 15 minutes to set up and the stickers were already on the set. I definitely think that's a plus. Up to five cars can race at a time and we thought it was the most fun when all five lanes were in use. You can turn off the obstacles or leave them on. There is only one obstacle towards the end of the track, and you never know which lane(s) will have an obstacle. There is a finish line sensor that lets you know which car won. The cars do go pretty fast so it is often a photo finish. There are also two ways to set up the track, which is a nice option. There are only a couple of things that I would change about this track. It would be nice to have volume settings on the audio and it is a little more difficult to take down and store than the directions indicate.
