My youngest son was so excited because it was a game he could actually play. Because most board games you have to be able to read or something and this one is easy for him to play. It also doesn&rsquo;t take long to play so we ended up playing multiple games and had so much fun. We had to take turns but I started it off with my 10,8, and 5 year old. Even though it says 7 and up my 5 year old had no trouble at all playing this game. This game is all about collecting the gems and making sure not to wake the idol. It's definitely a family game and perfect for those rainy days or family game night. Me and my siblings use to have this game when we were young and would play all the time. When I saw this new version I knew I had to have it for my nephews. It is easy to set up and put together. It also doesn't take long. It is exciting and strategic. My 5 year old plays it even though it says 7 years old and up. I love the theme, yet I feel it's missing a good back story. We will just use our imaginations and maybe roll play some stories. The game it's self is very fun and easy to set up. It is marked for the age seven and up, but my five year old helped me assemble and play it with ease. We played it with three players. You can play it with up to four players. The token pieces are super cute with explorers and canoes. The rules are simple. The quest mission is a realistic time stretch. The game is not too short, or too long. The artistic details of the game are incredible. I do however think it would be cooler if the Idols eyes glowed like they do on the box. The quest has dangerous possibilities like being shaken off a bridge, being sabotaged or being tricked out of your gemstone. I think the game opens minds to think about unexplored places and give a wild sense of adventure. I have two imaginative kids and I know they are going to have many great adventures with this game. My kids really like playing it as well. It has extremely simple rules but is very entertaining. It is relatively fast even playing it with 4 people.
