She stares at it intently. She doesn't have the motor skills to build with them quite yet, but when I build them up for her, she likes to knock them down as most kids do, lol. Cool mini activities on the side of the blocks and letters and numbers is a plus. They have are very diverse in that they each have several prospects of which to play and learn as opposed to just stacking or looking at a letter/picture. I especially liked the movable part of each block that can be activated by the button or used all together when stacked. They are all well made, even the movable parts, of hard plastic but still acceptable and safe for play by babies like my daughter who is 8 months old. There is no worry that any of the movable parts could hurt her. Furthermore all corners are smooth and slightly rounded. At only eight months she is able to use most of the attributes of the blocks but they are not limited to just this age and she will be able to gain more from them within the coming months as well as help her learn to articulate further. Overall I am very pleased. My wife did mention it would have seemed obvious that there should be a fourth block in the set. The various moving pieces captured his attention and he is learning to press the buttons to activate the moving features. The blocks are brightly colored and he seems to reach for these toys over less colorful alternatives. Our 2.5 year old enjoys stacking the blocks and identifying the numbers, letters and animals printed on the sides. It looked as though we'd received 4 blocks, but in fact it was 3. Block A has great contrasting colors. My 8 month old daughter wasn't very interested in this one. The flipping window doesn't stay in the &quot;up&quot; position but otherwise it very easily interacted with. Block B was her favorite. Again, excellent color choice. Pushing the button on top came with ease and she really enjoyed watching the interactive part spin with beads insude. Not sure younger babies in the age range will grasp the switch effect wings on the butterfly. But the graphics are cute. Block C is my personal favorite. It has the easiest operation. And the spinning mechanism lasts the longest. I believe 10 months and up will love the multifunctional use of each block because they posess a greater cognitive ability and sharper fine motor skills. Each block can be placed on top of another to a create a connected moving stack. The other sides contain non moving A,B,C letters and a simple sliding action to reveal different animals. Overall my daughter enjoys playing with it but doesn't hold her attention long due to its simplicity of motions and amount of blocks. These are good for the beginner stacking phase of your childs development. She loves rattle and spinner toys and these blocks have them both! Each block has a button on top, when pushed, a rattle or spinner will move. These blocks are stackable and when you push the button, all the spinners and rattles move. She absolutely loves playing with these blocks. My 9 year old son saw how much fun she was having and joined in!
