We spend a lot of time outside, so it's important that we have fun outside activities to keep my son engaged and playing. My son is just turning 5 in about a month. We bought him a ride on PowerWheels Tractor for Christmas this past year and it has been ridden many many miles, but recently he hasn't been riding it as much because it's a little slower and not as exciting as it used to be. This new Hot wheels Raptor was just the right upgrade to get us to the next level. It seems to go a little faster even though they are both rates at 5mph. It's also a good bit bigger &amp; more powerful than the tractor, so it doesn't seem to get 'stuck' quite as often. Now for the things I like as a parent.... 1) The battery compartment is easy access (not easy at all on his tractor ride on) 2) Capacity for larger child. A little bigger will get us a little further. I didn't have to upgrade to the next level riding toy (go-kart or 4 wheeler of some kind). I'm just not ready to let him go on something with a lot more go. 3) It goes more places. It's got more weight, clearance, and traction to go over more terrain without problems. Cons.... 1) It takes up a large parking space. Be ready for the size. 2) I know it's got to weigh a lot because it's a substantial truck, but it was big &amp; heavy and took 2 of us to move it. So have help handy. 3) The angle for applying the bolts to put the tires on the rear axle is next to impossible. But it is accomplishable. Overall we would definitely choose this PowerWheels truck for our almost 5 year old again. I also like that the battery can charge over night without it getting over charged. If you wanted to be in it for a long time (over half an hour)you'd probably want another battery to keep up. The kids went nuts when they saw it. There were a couple oil spots on the cardboard near the back tires but I haven't noticed any drops since putting it together. Runs easily on grass and concrete both, haven't tried sand. The only negative we've seen so far is that the tires get scratched up easily and it makes me wonder how much street cruising they can take. All in all we love this truck. Much. Fun!!</span> <span itemprop="description">[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is one tough truck! It&rsquo;s also massive, it fits two five year olds easily. It didn&rsquo;t take too long to put together, which is good because my son couldn&rsquo;t wait to drive it. We went to the back yard, up a hill in wet grass and over many curbs on the street and this truck had no problem with any of it! The truck has a very &lsquo;adult&rsquo; feel to it - the kids are so impressed with the simple additions like the cup holders, working radio and loud speaker. It was a little intimidating for my five year old, at first, it&rsquo;s just so big! You definitely need the running boards to climb up into it, and he likes using the seatbelt, he says it makes him feel safer. Though it didn&rsquo;t take him long to get comfortable driving it! The wheels are massive, which is great, but they are all plastic. This truck is so heavy that when you take your foot off the accelerator, the truck keeps going! It skids to a stop - which the boys have discovered is pretty fun. But, the wheels spin on the concrete a bit before finally gaining traction. It would be nice if there was some sort of grip to them so the wheels don&rsquo;t wear down too fast. We are going to try a bead of silicone on the treads to help out - it&rsquo;ll have to be redone occasionally, but it&rsquo;s a quick and easy traction fix. I also wish the doors opened like some of the other Power Wheels I&rsquo;ve seen. The loud speaker is really fun for the boys but it&rsquo;s a voice changer. It makes your voice turn into a very high pitched voice. It&rsquo;s still fun, but it would be nice if you could chance the pitch. It&rsquo;s such a tough looking truck, it seems odd to only have a super high pitched voice changer.
