<span itemprop="description">Got this for our son's birthday. It took two adults about 1.5 hrs to assemble. Lots of parts, but straightforward instructions. Be prepared to clear out a big swath of floor space to set everything up.
Both parents are blown away by the quality of this toy - honestly, it reminds me of the toys from when I was a kid. I didn't think they made them like that anymore. The larger pieces are a decent plywood or particle board, the veggies are wood with adorable Velcro bits for cutting. The pots and pans are a washable stainless steel, and the wooden knife comes with a cute knife holder space to store it in when not in use. From the ice cubes to the utensils, no detail has been spared in crafting this thing.
It took the little man some practice to figure out how to cut the vegetables, but after a few tries he was happily preparing food in the play kitchen we propped right next to our own kitchen (since it's not plastic with garish colors or anything, it blends in really well with the rest of the furniture). Our son loves the little knobs for turning on the stove and the faucet, and the lights and sounds accompanying them. The kitchen has plenty of storage space as cloth shelves underneath, and also fridge space - in case you want to introduce additional kitchen utensils and/or foods.
A solid investment and hours of imagination-building playtime.</span>
